Trying Out The New Game Crownrend - First Thoughts!

Hello! It's my first post in the Hive Gaming community!

For the past few days, I have been seeing this new game mentioned in many of the posts on Hive, and that's Crownrend!

I actually chanced upon this game from @deathwing a few days ago, and I mistakenly thought that it was just an upcoming game announcement and that the game was still under development! Then I saw a post by @achim03 earlier where he actually did a detailed video walk through of how the game worked and it was then I realised I could sign up and start playing right away! Haha. At least, the good thing that came out of it was that I was able to make use of a referral link to sign up (rather than to waste it signing up from the main website, hehe!).

By the way, the game cost 10 HBD worth of Hive to signup and the Hive will be deducted from one's Hive wallet. After amassing an amount of Hive and HBD over the years, I felt it was okay to spend this amount to enjoy a game on Hive, join the fun and have some common topics to discuss with Hivians, and also show my little support for projects on Hive, just like how I am involved in games like Splinterlands, HoloZing and Neon Strike.

Because the Hive price has decreased slightly today, 10 HBD came up to about 19 Hive. But it was okay, and I did a swap to convert 10 HBD in my Hive wallet so that was no "loss" in Hive for my account.

Because I have watched the video earlier, it was easy to get started. There are 9 key stats in the game to upgrade and one is given 10 DENAR. All of them start at Level 1 and most of them take 1 DENAR to be upgraded from Level 1 to 2, and then 3.5 DENAR to be upgraded from Level 2 to 3. For myself, I have decided to upgrade some of my Army Stats to Level 2 and 3. But I made a slight mistake by clicking Claim too early (there's a 2 hour cooldown for claiming!), and I didn't have enough DENAR left to upgrade my Tax Efficiency, which is currently stuck at Level 1.

I also completed all my 8 battles which were more of a simple click - easy games are awesome these days!

Won all 8 of them. Here's one example of the battle log. I probably will do a deeper dive to understand the numbers when I have more time.

There is also somewhat of a leaderboard that ranks players based on the sum of their 6 Army Tactics. Because I have 5 Level 2s and 1 Level 3s, my KP is 13 and that puts 49th in the game currently!

The top players have about 16 to 21 KP at the moment. How many of them do you recognise? Hehe.

For those who want to speedrun the game, of course, one can purchase more DENAR on the Hive Exchange to upgrade one's stats, and conversely, one can withdraw earned DENAR to sell for profits too. Currently, one 1 DENAR is trading at 1.20 to 1.75 Hive.

So summing up, my first thoughts are that Crownrend has a very cool interface and I like the castle/kingdom background and the font/layout of the page. It is easy to understand, easy to pick up with all the explanations, easy to play, and doesn't require too much time commitment (not 100% sure about that, but we will see!). As for whether it's play-to-earn, I think it's probably too early to tell. It all depends on various factors such as the game dynamics, the community, and future developments and improvements, etc. But surely, this looks promising!
