Whenever I'm eyeing a game, planning on adding it to my library, I always try and make sure that it has a fairly lengthy story. I really don't wanna pay $60 for a game that only lasts 20 hours and doesn't even give you much freedom to explore.
Graphics matters too, same goes for stability, but it's the story that is numero uno. It's always about quantity over quality for me, more of a balance is what I prefer, but you can bet that I'm picky with my money, especially when it comes to paying top dollar. Games aren't cheap anymore, were they ever cheap though?
RDR2 so far has been the best bang for the buck, I got it on sale for about $14 and it's worth every penny. Yes, if I would've bought later then I could've got it for much less, because much bigger sales followed soon enough. But hey, I'm happy with my purchase.
I've clocked in 60 hours so far, and I bought the game back in October 2022, those are rookie numbers, I know, but I'm taking it easy with this one. Side missions, hunting, exploration, you name it, I've done it all, and slowly I'm closing in towards the mid stages of the game. 60 hours clocked in and we've just reached halfway? Now that's what I like. Of course, if you rush through the main story then you can finish it much faster, but where's the fun in that? You're not getting the full experience, and just wasting your money at that point.
I just recently landed in Saint Denis, and man, have I been waiting to visit this part of the map.
There's a lot to explore here, a lot of money to make, lots of upgrades too, the missions here start to get crazier too. The police force in this city is what bothers me the most, these men are a pesky bunch of brutes. They just keep on coming, and running is the only option you have when facing these men in blue.
It's a strange, but beautiful city. It's full of strange characters, bizarre interactions and side missions too, just how I like it haha. A lot is happening here, if you don't pay attention and just zoom through, then you won't notice most of it.
We came to this city to save Jack, then came the whole Bronte feud, and Dutch going crazy soon after. What started as a missions to save, in a matter of "game-hours", it became a fiesta of loss.
For now I'm still exploring on the sidelines, because I don't want the main story to advance ahead, and a part of me really doesn't want the game to end, but sadly, that day will come, so will the ending. Let's say I'm just "wasting" some time at the moment, appreciating what this game has to offer.
And after that's done? I really don't know where we're headed.

The rich city. There is a way to continuously rob a few stores and not get caught, if you do it right. I can tell you which ones as I've done it multiple times.
I'd rather keep my honor high and avoid robbing people. I prefer killing and robbing thugs instead. 😂
Read dead redemption 2 got to be one of my favorite game ever man, that mission where we have to find the grave diggers when we first introduced to the saint denis map was unreal and scary too. I never suspected there is such a detailed city in the game when I started playing. this game is a narrative and cinematic masterpiece. thanks for reminding all those memories bro.
Oh, it surely is in my top 3 right now, alongside Witcher 3 and AC Black Flag. I'm glad I decided to play it, at least late, than never.
I still have a long way to go though, I'm hovering around Chapter 5 at the moment.
Damn, bro, my top 2 are Witcher 3 and red dead redemption. I played the black flag as a kid, so I don't remember the experience.
I say you should play Black Flag again, every mission and the scenes are all so vivid, even to this day.
I've heard that they're releasing a sequel for Black Flag. So, that gives a lot of players the chance to try Black Flag again, before they start playing the sequel. I'll surely be playing Black Flag again, after the sequel is released.
my GPU was fried last month, so I can only play the less demanding games until I can buy a new one. it sucks man, that's why I got so excited watching your post.
It's one of my biggest fears, but so far my older and new PC are doing fine. Hopefully you'll be able to get a replacement soon, I know how it feels playing without a GPU, or even with a less powerful GPU. All of that finally changed after I got myself a new PC just last year, the older one is now 8 years old, still going strong.
I never played RDR 2 for the moment but maybe one day, anyway really nice post !sloth
I myself am late to the party. This game came out 5 years ago, how time flies. But I'm glad I got the chance to play.
