Hey friends! Still buzzing from the hype of this new feature—figured I'd join the chorus and share my thoughts too. In this post, I want to talk about a game-changing update in Splinterlands that left me—just an average player, not a whale, not a shiny foil collector—feeling all sorts of emotions: excited, curious, and a bit overwhelmed.

The update is called Conclave Arcana, the sixth core set that was just announced, bringing a massive 82 new cards (24 commons, 29 rares, 14 epics, and 15 legendaries), with 9 more airdrop cards coming soon, including a player-designed Archon card. Wild, right? No wonder SPS prices have been climbing—maybe it’s connected, maybe not, I’ll let you decide.
But it’s not just the number of cards that’s causing a stir—it’s the new abilities that are completely shaking up the game. There are 9 new abilities, ranging from super tactical ones like Reveal, which counters Camouflage, to game-changers like Resurgence—a unit literally comes back from the dead with 100% HP and armor, all magic debuffs wiped clean, buffs restored… though it skips one turn. Can you imagine the late-game plays with that?

One ability that really made my jaw drop is Bloodline Tribute. When one unit dies, all its bloodline allies get a boost: +1 HP, speed, armor, even attack. If you build a team around bloodline synergy, it’s like a more advanced martyr effect—more complex, but way more rewarding. Honestly, it might even be stronger than Bloodlust from the Gladiators.
That’s why I think deckbuilding is about to change. In the past, we mostly looked at card rarity—common, rare, epic, legendary. But now, if bloodline synergy is the key, then your common card might fight side-by-side with legendaries and still get the same boost. It’s a whole new world.

But not all new things are sunshine and rainbows. Take Reckless, for example—it can damage nearby allies when attacking. A real double-edged sword, especially in rulesets like Close Range or Super Sneak—a misstep could mean taking out your own team. Then again, this isn’t the first double-edged skill—we already have Electrified, which deals 1 damage to all allies each round.
And honestly, when I saw Bloodline Dominion—which lets you summon units from any element as long as they share a bloodline—I felt like this was a turning point. Cards like this could unlock new strategies, but also backfire if your Splinter doesn’t have enough bloodline diversity.

With this new element added, I think veteran players will go through a transition phase—rethinking their strategies, rebuilding their collection. With Chaos Legion cards rotating to Wild, I’m personally having to reset my whole approach, learning the new abilities and blending them with the old ones. For new players though, maybe this will actually make it easier to adapt to Conclave Arcana from the get-go. Hopefully, they’ll feel right at home in Splinterlands.
But here’s one thing I’ve learned—and I think this is super important for newcomers: community matters. If you’re willing to read through the many blog posts, you’ll find long-time players sharing tips, strategies, even rental cards. Playing in a guild, chatting on Discord, reading Hive blogs—all of that helps you grow. We all started from zero, and stories like these are the guides you won’t find in any official tutorial.
My advice?
Don’t rush. Enjoy the process. And most importantly: keep playing in your own style. Don’t follow trends just because of FOMO. Sometimes, in a world full of loud whales and meta-chasers, our small voices still matter—at least for our own journey.
See you in the arena, fellow summoners.
Let’s conjure some chaos with arcane power—in our own way! 💥✨
