Last day there was a change of plans because, while exploring the castle, which is the main path, I found a hidden wall that led me to a whole new area. Today I will continue exploring this new area to see what other things I come across, as at first glance it seems to be quite large.
1.jpg
Following the path I reached a new dungeon, but this one was different from the others, it was in total darkness and you could not see anything. The feeling of tension that it generated was horrible, especially because in several corridors there were many enemies.
2.jpg
After many turns, activating many mechanisms and surviving the enemies as best I could, I reached the end of the dungeon, where the boss room was. However, the boss was also very peculiar, as the area where we fought him was not a dungeon room, but was outside. Beating him was relatively simple, as I came to this fight without healing vials I opted for an aggressive approach, trying not to let him breathe to finish him quickly.
3.jpg
After defeating him I realized that I was not only out of the dungeon, but that this was the entrance to a new and quite strange area. As soon as I advanced a little, I began to see messages on the floor that said things like "You still have time to leave" "You can't hide from him".
4.jpg
The area is quite gloomy, even the music changes here, generating a feeling of loneliness, but making us feel observed at the same time. The few enemies there were rats, small and large, with yellow eyes, implying that they were under the effect of madness.
5.jpg
Moving forward I reached a stealth area, there was a mysterious monster with a kind of giant eye that, if it saw us, it would kill us instantly. I could not fight him, I had to move forward crouching down and getting into the weeds, careful not to attract his attention.
6.jpg
After a rather tense time, I arrived at a kind of mansion, it was the only structure in this area. Outside this mansion there were corpses nailed to the ground, with their heads torn off and some kind of glowing stake in their necks.
7.jpg
I entered the mansion, I had never felt so relieved to find a grace where to rest. As soon as I entered, a voice in the background sounded, asking us to leave, telling us that madness would begin to break out.
8.jpg
The mansion is very, very labyrinthine. Many paths, alternate rooms, enemies and secrets. Many times I would reach an area where there seemed to be no path, but at those times there were hidden walls that were mandatory to discover in order to continue advancing. Although the game gives you clues, putting flashy pictures for you to approach that wall, for example.
9.jpg
After a long time walking around, I arrived at the final area, where there was clearly a boss. Upon entering this room, we will see that the boss is a weak man, he can't even walk well and he will hit us with his hands. I defeated him with 4 hits, but clearly that was not the real boss.
10.jpg
When we defeat him the first time, we will see a cinematic where he rips his head off with a sword he has stuck in his head, he will become taller and the frenzied flame will appear on his head. This is the real combat.
11.jpg
The boss is spectacular. His attacks will generate the state of madness, if the madness bar is full we will be stunned for a few seconds. He has many explosive and area attacks. It took me several attempts to defeat him, but I really enjoyed this fight.
12.gif
Defeating him gave me his memory, which will allow me to exchange it for his weapon or a spell. Unfortunately both of these things require the faith attributes turned up, something my character isn't focused on, so they don't do me much good.
13.jpg
With the boss defeated, I could consider this area finished. Honestly an amazing area, I never thought to see things like stealth in this kind of games or that would make me feel briefly like in a horror game. But well, next day I'll go back to the castle and continue with the main path.

Sort:

The best boss in the DLC and maybe the entire game in my opinion. Such a fun fight.

The design is incredible and so far, for me the atmosphere of the whole area to get to him, with that touch of terror, has been the best of the DLC.

Now that's something I don't wish to face in any game cause I know I'd just get killed again and again and again towards infinity.

haha it's great, I love those weird and epic designs.

😊

Do you play it with control or keyboard? those fights are brutal!

Control, these games are unplayable for me using keyboard 😅.
