RE: Pokémon TCG Pocket Review: A Casual Gamer's Perspective

in Hive Gaming29 days ago

I finally ended up trying it a week ago, I wasn't interested at first but after seeing so many people playing it, I got curious because it looked fun. However in my case it didn't get me hooked, I opened a couple of packs and it was ok, but the gameplay seems a bit boring to me. Plus I have the slight feeling that when the new card packs/new collections arrive, the difference between the free player and the paying player will be bigger.

Honestly, I had a similar experience. The gameplay didn’t really hook me either—it can feel a bit repetitive after a while. But for me, the main draw is the nostalgia. There’s something special about seeing those cards again and reliving the memories of playing Pokémon back in the day.

I agree with you about the potential gap between free players and paying players, especially when new packs or collections drop. It can make things feel a little unbalanced, which is frustrating. But at the same time, I think it’s still fun to dabble in it casually for the nostalgia trip. For me, that’s really where the charm is. 😊
