Hello Hive community
I have dealt with this TOPS topic before but today I thought of doing one to a genre that I feel is one of my favorites, I am talking about historical games or games that portray historical facts or are somehow related to the fine world of history, I have always been a fan since I was a kid of this topic and it is no different in the field of video games, so let's take a quick look at this list and see if any game entertains you.
Age Of Empires
A classic game everywhere you look, I think we all at some point have been on some vacation in a cabin with no signal or wifi but some laptop saves the week, is a strategy game that has several years being one of the best and although it is not a history game per se if it has several elements of the architecture of various ancient civilizations, the first title is my favorite that to this day I try to pass and whenever I see in the networks there is some reference to the priest woololo, so yes, top iconic video games of all time.
This War Of Mine
I can't imagine how hard it must have been to make this game, I was watching several videos on Youtube that said that the studio had to work with different war survivors and be inspired by the current wars to be able to capture in a realistic way what an ordinary citizen could feel in these situations, far from the spectacle of the war shooters this title puts you in a desperate situation and has no mercy on you.
The resources are low, any inconvenience can result in your death or that of your team, the conditions are never ideal and there is always room for everything to go wrong, it is a brutal game that puts you in the daily stress of being a survivor in a war zone and translates it to the game in a way that has made me think a lot about the conflicts we are living in the world.
Valiant Hearts
One of my favorite games, and it is from ubisoft, but it has so many features and love behind that it is fair to say that it is on the good side of this study, the game is a story of soldiers in the first world war but covers much more than that, has extra content as if it were a museum with letters from the soldiers recounting their experiences, a huge glossary that is updated in the game and brings all the concepts and major events that occurred in this war as well as a way to play that
Assassin's Creed
This is the least historically accurate game than the previous ones but even so I think its strong point is how it creates the worlds it puts us in, each one is a love letter to the era and I think from Renaissance Italy to recent Egypt there is a lot to rescue in this game franchise, being such an extensive saga it is logical that there are mistakes like Da Vinci meeting Ezio but I think I want to focus on how this game builds its world.
Besides the gameplay is also successful and whenever I play an AC I always have a lot of fun.
Civilization VI
I haven't played much of this saga but I can say that it's a lot of fun all the point of managing your own society, and since the beginning they have done nothing but up the ante by adding more and more things, this sixth installment I think is my ideal return to this type of games, it combines a simplicity at the time of playing it with epic moments where we can even face different historical characters.
And that would be my top, some games for those history lovers like me, I am about to start a series in this war of mine commenting everything related to its development, I just find it very interesting how they did it.

Good game I am a fan also of story and rune games greetings and blessings ❤️.
I know about the age of empires and assassin's creeds. But have no idea about the other ones. Your explanation looks interesting. I'll try out the "This War of Mine and Valiant Hearts". They look quite interesting and adventurous to me.
Well Explained.❤️
I'm not a big strategy game player, but some of the Assassin's Creed games were fun. Have you checked out Pentiment? Heard good things about it and it seems to be very history-focused
It's funny because when I think about this, I think about just how many people famous historically people must have met that we don't even know about. That is how I use to pass it off for the older AC games. I mean afterall Da vinci knows that Ezio is a part of a secret organization and I doubt he would go blabbing about it.
I mean we kind of see this happening in the dlc for brotherhood when Da vinci (IIRC) blabbed about the Apple of Eden and in order to protect him, and to ensure the apple didn't fall into the wrong hands, ezio wiped his mind.
But in later installments it can of became harder to do considering the usually big parts the protagnists played in historical moments.
It truly is cool being able to see these ancient worlds through video games! Assassin's Creed especially does a fantastic job of giving you a ancient city playgrounds to run around in and admire the awesome architecture.
Age of Empire. A jewel without a doubt, I started to play it again a few days ago, and my little girl of 7 is super excited, she even plays it already haha. My 4 year old also likes it but he doesn't know how to play it yet. The excitement they have is because they have been learning about the story and when I named certain characters in the game they remember their classes quickly. It has become an incentive to learn more history.
