Kingdom Come Deliverance: The Storming of Pribyslavitz

Taking time out from Kingdom Come Deliverance has become a problem lately. This highly unforgiving game has got its jaws clamped around me now on a vice clench.

You can get to a certain point where it becomes blasé only to be torn down a few notches when five bandits jump you, all clad in plate armour. Don't take it for granted, as it will bite you in the arse.

My Henry now has decent stuff looted from corpses in Skalitz, where all the bad guys seem to hang out in groups. I was lucky, they all got pissed off with each other and killed one another. I had to kill but one, and he was a tough bastard.

Did it make a difference; YES…, a massive difference though learning 'The Perfect Block' timing and not being an impatient bastard is what keeps you alive.

This journal starts on the main quest track and the storming of Pribyslavitz. Be aware, there are spoilers in this article, however this is but a small slice of the game.

It's fucking massive and the main quest is not one to procrastinate over.

Henry is on a mission to recover Sir Radzig Kobyla's sword. The character portrayed in the game did exist as a real person in history and the wiki info mentions the year 1403, the same year this game is based upon.

Few sections of Kingdom Come Deliverance contain cut-scenes but they are generally well done when presented. The forthcoming battle reminded me a little of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla when storming Monasteries, but more scripted.

Henry now boasts one of those helms where all you can see are his eyes. This presents visual limitations when the helm is down, but it’s worth it. He no longer gets poked in the eye with sword tips.

Within this scene you do have to fight and holding back and letting the guards do all the fighting may cause you to lose the battle. Before this is started make sure you have some decent gear and skills.

These are live media clips while fighting. It might seem to be a clunky old game but it does have its moments.

Henry is no longer a common surf, but a terrible sight to behold. Get one of those hats and your Henry can be the same.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070109.jpg

This is the shithead who took you down in the overlong prelude. He likes to swear a lot as you can see. Killing him then was impossible and if you are a particularly shit fighter he will kill you again.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070131.jpg

The sword he wields is not Sir Radzig Kobyla’s sword, created by Henry’s father, but it’s still long and pokey.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070352.jpg

I won’t mention his name as I have already spoiled this enough, but he was not a big deal to take down. Henry did not even bleed and had poison coated on his sword, just to make sure.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070357.jpg

He justifiably tells Henry to fuck off when quizzed about the sword, so the throat has to be slashed.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070423.jpg

Yes.. not a great move as now we can’t torture him.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070535.jpg

What sucks about this scene is that you are transported back to Rattay at the end and don't have a chance to claim all that juicy loot. If you go back, it's gone.., some twat got it before Henry.

The coins are another story and another spoiler, so I will shut up about that. Suffice it to say Henry gets nothing for his efforts.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127070618.jpg

I want the loot, not a bloody rest. You can see it in his expression.

Sir Radzig is supposed to be 53 years old, he looks damn good for that age. The voice acting of this character is particularly good.

Here are a few tips for you. 'Mutt' (the dog) is great apart from the annoying constant howling, especially when you are practising Alchemy.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127172248.jpg

Feed him Bacon, praise him often and raise your Hound Master skill. At a certain level, Mutt will attack your foes and you get the 'Sic' option. While he's gnawing at their ankles, the bad guys tend to turn around leaving themselves open to several fatal sword slashes and a grisly death.

If you have the DLC pack... that seamlessly integrates itself into the main story, then Pribyslavitz can be rebuilt. It's like a mini city builder, with Henry as the resources buyer, manager and local bailiff.

When fast travelling… beware as if there is an incident it’s generally an ambush. I am still wary of these and only recently died to four well-armoured Cumans who jumped me.

Mutt did take a large bite out of one of their legs though; I have to laugh at this as they do start swearing and cursing in Czech....

You do come across Robbers who kill people and then loot them. If you catch one in the act, tell them to fuck off or die…, wait for them to slope off…

….then you can loot them yourself..., all perfectly moralistic gameplay.

Kingdom Come_ Deliverance Royal Edition_20241127174557.jpg

You do get a trophy or achievement if you steal too much stuff. The stolen tag vanishes after a while, so dump the crap on your horse if you don't want to attract attention.

Speaking of Horses, they are game changers. Don’t buy one, just do the main quest line and you will be gifted a free slow, crap horse early.

This game is hard…, really hard, but keep with it and it’s extremely rewarding. Your Henry could look like mine before you know it.

I bet @bingbabe is so happy that you found this game! :) It looks like you are progressing quite well!

I have to be careful. She accused me of 'Everquest' again only a few days ago. She works a lot so I tend to play when she's out.

There game is hard! I like it so far and will stick with it. At least until I get my shit slow horse 😃

The shit horse is such a step up. More inventory space for one. The number of times I was shuffling back to the Miller's place with a sack full of looted armour and weapons before that.. at like 1mph due to being overburdened hehe...

Lol, I hate being overburdened in games and trailing at a snails pace back somewhere. Always end up doing it though. I will be doing a bit today hopefully!

Make sure you steal the ring from the executioner (or buy it from him).. or that Miller dude won't let you sleep... fucker!

I defo will. I presume all of that stuff is in my next bit which is after escaping the sacking of the village that you start at? My character is gash so far

Amazing game, I slept on this game for a long time until I played it recently. I can't wait for II.

It took me three goes to get hooked. The Womans Work DLC I did not like. There's no advancement when playing as Theresa.

I do wonder if Henry will become talentless again in II. That would not be very real and 'real' is one of the games selling points.

This game is hard…, really hard, but keep with it and it’s extremely rewarding.

I could never play a game :) I wonder how comfortable the kids are playing them, and when I see their fingers and action, I get that feeling of how engaging it is.

I am a IT geek. It was the lure of games that melded me into computers. Everything else went from there.

For some reason, I was never lured by games, even though I am a developer :)

I enjoyed very much how you narrate your story, it is a game that I knew by sight but I had no idea of the story or how the gameplay looked like, the screenshots are very good too.
Regarding the music and ambient sound, is it good, is it according to the gameplay?

Yes, medieval music and ambiance lend to the experience.
