Is Pokémon Unite better than Wild Rift? — eng/esp

Continuing with the Pokémon game reviews, today it's the turn of one that I never thought of playing, but I was more curious than this poor soul in pain and so I ended up playing it when @Zhoten told me to download it, technically I already knew what I was going to face, I already knew the dynamics and how the title in question was going to be because there are currently about 800 video games that deal with the same thing, So I knew beforehand what role I was going to play before I even started, obviously my role would be support, because there's nothing better than helping your allies to kill and heal them so they don't die in combat, plus I think it's something that not many people do, so I can easily fulfill that role. The truth is that I didn't have any previous experience and because the mechanics are so simple, I learned how to play with just one game, although I specialize in using only one Pokémon, since using others is something that gets complicated for me because I don't know what moves to choose to fight or what items to use to perform better. In case you haven't realised what I'm talking about with all this talk, which videogame I'm referring to, I'm obviously talking about the moba Pokémon Unite or colloquially known as the LoL of Pokémon.

Continuando con las reseñas de juegos de Pokémon, hoy le toca a uno que nunca pensé jugar, pero más pudo la curiosidad que tenía este pobre alma en pena y entonces terminé jugando cuando @Zhoten me dijo que lo descargara, técnicamente ya sabía a lo que me iba a enfrentar, ya sabía la dinámica y cómo iba a ser el título en cuestión porque actualmente hay como 800 videojuegos que tratan de lo mismo, por lo tanto ya sabía de antemano qué rol iba a desempeñar antes de siquiera comenzar, obviamente mi rol sería el de support, porque nada mejor que ayudar a tus aliados a matar y curarlos para que no mueran en combate, además de que creo que es algo en lo que no mucha gente se desempeña, así que fácilmente puedo cumplir ese rol. La verdad ni experiencia previa tenía y como las mecánicas son tan sencillas, aprendí a jugar con una sola partida, aunque más que nada me especializo en usar nada más que un Pokémon, ya usar otros es algo que se me complica porque no sé qué movimientos elegir para pelear o qué objetos debe usar para rendir mejor. Por si no te has dado cuenta de lo que estoy hablando con toda esta palabrería, de a qué videojuego me refiero, pues obviamente estoy hablando del moba Pokémon Unite o coloquialmente conocido como el LoL de Pokémon.

My main one as the youngsters say nowadays is Eldegoss, no idea what Pokémon that was, first time I saw it but it turned out pretty good to pick it. I could say that starting to play normal games (not ranked) everything was very nice and most of the time I was winning and winning over and over again until I decided to play with the ranked pals thinking it would be easy and fun. Most of the time I spend playing with @mig1 and obviously because of him we spend it losing, now seriously speaking, there is a serious problem of organization when playing, here everyone goes where he wants and then in a game it can happen that all your allies are on the top line and you are alone on the bottom line, being support, against two other guys, obviously you will lose irretrievably, which happens to me a lot when I'm playing alone. There was a time when we easily won 6 games in a row in one day and the next we lost like 10, @perceval was in some of them but when we finally managed to win he was already gone. The matchmaking is a bit weird anyway, you get grouped with people who are vastly superior to you, with high ranks. So that might have influenced our losses.

Mi main como dicen los jóvenes de hoy en día es Eldegoss, ni idea de cuál Pokémon era ese, primera vez que lo veía pero resultó bastante bien el escogerlo. Podría decir que comenzando a jugar partidas normales (no clasificatorias) todo era muy bonito y la mayor parte del tiempo me la pasaba ganando y ganando una y otra vez hasta que decidí jugar con los panas clasificatorias pensando que sería sencillo y divertido. La mayor parte del tiempo me la paso jugando junto a @mig1 y obviamente por su culpa nos la pasamos perdiendo, ahora hablando en serio, hay un grave problema de organización al jugar, acá cada quién va por donde se le cante y entonces en una partida puede ocurrir que todos tus aliados estén en la línea de arriba y tú quedes solo en la línea de abajo, siendo support, contra otros dos tipos, obviamente vas a salir perdiendo irremediablemente, cosa que me pasa mucho cuando estoy jugando solo. Hubo un momento en el que fácilmente ganamos 6 partidas seguidas en un día y al siguiente perdimos como 10, en algunas estuvo @perceval pero cuando por fin logramos ganar ya se había ido. Igual el matchmaking es algo raro, te agrupan con gente que es ampliamente superior a ti, con rangos altos. Así que puede que eso haya influido en nuestras derrotas.

As for the balance of the Pokémons, we could say that it's not very fair. In some games you have to pray that the opponent doesn't know how to use the Pokémons that are broken because easily the game is already lost, a clear example is Absol that without having leveled up a lot during the game, and starting it has an attack that leaves you with a touch of life, I really don't understand it. Another one that is quite broken depending on whether you know how to use it or not, is Tsareena, I don't know what she does but if you don't take care during the game, she can easily become immortal by placing shields, even if she is attacked by three people, she won't lose life at all, most likely the three who are attacking her will end up dying. The others I don't think I have a problem with at all and are treatable if you have a good game. Although checking through communities, I've been told that the most broken character in the whole game is Lucario, they've nerfed it several times and it's still the most powerful, honestly so far I don't think I've faced a Lucario as powerful as they say, I guess not many people know how to use it.

En cuanto al balance de los Pokémons, podríamos decir que no es muy justo que digamos. En algunas partidas tienes que rezar para que el rival no sepa usar los Pokémons que están rotos porque fácilmente la partida ya la tienes pérdida, un claro ejemplo es Absol que sin haber subido mucho de nivel durante la partida, ya comenzando tiene un ataque que te deja a un toque de vida, yo la verdad que no entiendo. Otro que está bastante roto dependiendo de que si lo saben usar o no, es Tsareena, no sé qué hace pero si te descuidas durante la partida, fácilmente se puede hacer inmortal colocándose escudos, incluso si es atacada entre tres personas, no se le bajará la vida en lo absoluto, lo más probable es que acaben muriendo los tres que la estén atacando. Con los demás creo que no tengo problema en absoluto y son tratables si se tiene una buena partida. Aunque revisando por comunidades, prácticamente me han dicho que el personaje más roto de todo el juego es Lucario, que lo han nerfeado varias veces y aún así sigue siendo el más poderoso, sinceramente hasta ahora creo que no me he enfrentado a un Lucario tan poderoso como comentan, supongo que no muchos saben usarlo.

What I love most about Unite I think is the cosmetic theme, if you do the daily missions you can easily get enough tickets to buy all the clothes you want, starting off you can easily get over 20,000 tickets for outfits and accessories. They even have a mechanic where as you play the game a pokeball bar fills up and when the pokeball fills up it gives you the chance to claim a prize, which most of the time is usually clothes or tickets. The game itself has many coins that you can exchange for many things, recently there was an event where the currency you earned for completing the missions were some flowers, with that currency I could buy a skin for my Eldegoss and also some tickets for clothes, it's good that you don't even have to pay to get skins. Even for logging in every day, they give you free stuff, even to the point of giving you Pokémons, so you don't have to buy them. We can say that it's pretty much free to play except for upgrading items, it's quite difficult to get that currency.

Lo que más me encanta de Unite creo que es el tema de los cosméticos, si haces las misiones diarias fácilmente puedes obtener los suficientes tickets para comprarte toda la ropa que quieras, comenzando puedes conseguir de forma sencilla más de 20.000 tickets para trajes y accesorios. Es que incluso tienen una mecánica que mientras juegas partidas se va llenando una barra de una pokeball, dicha pokeball al llenarse te da la posibilidad de reclamar un premio, que la mayor parte del tiempo suele ser ropa o tickets. El juego en sí tiene muchas monedas que puedes canjear por muchas cosas, recientemente había un evento donde la moneda que ganabas por completar las misiones eran unas flores, con esa moneda pude comprarme una skin para mí Eldegoss y además algunos tickets para ropa, está bueno eso de que no haya que pagar ni para conseguir skins. Es que hasta por iniciar sesión diariamente, te van regalando cosas llegando al punto de regalarte Pokémons, así no tienes que verte en la necesidad de comprarlos. Podemos decir que es bastante free to play menos para mejorar los objetos, es bastante difícil conseguir esa moneda.

In conclusion, we are facing a title I would say that very entertaining to play with friends, even if you lose you have a great time, although that does not remove the fact that I have fallen in rank so much losing and it cost me a lot to recover it (all the fault of @perceval that even being Master rank 1800 does not know how to play). The gameplay is quite fun, it consists of destroying bases by scoring points as if it were a basketball game, obviously killing the opponents who are defending the base to be able to score. There are interesting mechanics like killing a certain Pokémon gives you the possibility that the baskets you score are worth double or that you can score directly without having to fill the bar to make the shot. I love that if you don't have internet you can also play games against bots, which is pretty cool. In itself, everything is very dynamic and addictive, the 10 minutes of gameplay will fly by and you'll want to keep playing and playing. I highly recommend it but be careful because overnight it can become your new addiction.

En conclusión, estamos ante un título yo diría que muy entretenido para jugar con los amigos, así sea perdiendo te la pasas bien chévere, aunque eso no quita el hecho de haya bajado de rango de tanto perder y me costó mucho recuperarlo (todo culpa de @perceval que aún siendo rango Maestro 1800 no sabe jugar). El gameplay es bastante divertido, consiste en destruir bases encestando puntos como si de basket se tratase, obviamente matando a los rivales que estén defendiendo dicha base para poder encestar. Hay mecánicas interesantes como matar a cierto Pokémon te da la posibilidad que las canastas que anotes valgan el doble o que puedas encestar directamente sin tener que llenar la barra para realizar el tiro. Me encanta que si no tienes internet también puedas jugar partidas contra bots, algo bastante curioso. En sí, todo es muy dinámico y adictivo, los 10 minutos de partida se te pasan volando y querrás seguir jugando y jugando. Lo recomiendo mucho pero cuidado porque de la noche a la mañana se podrá volver en tu nueva adicción.
