Let us start by welcoming you all to the Chop-Shop!
So, what is it? Well, our dCrop compatriots, this will be an ongoing blog trying to demystify the game for newbs and to help everyone make wiser decisions on card purchases and long term planning. The core of this blog will be the Share to Reward chart. This can be seen below in it’s first incarnation. The idea here is to show cost of seeds compared to share returns for a season. We will start with this core feature and work out. We are always open to suggestions and as this grows (if it does, thanks to you magnificent bastards) we will also be looking for volunteers and partners to build out more tools for the community.
Ultimately, we just want to give some value and utility to the dCrops project and community to help people make wiser decisions in-game. With any luck we can all build a strong fellowship around the game, which is what Hive was made for, and not only have a good time, but taste a little of that sweet, sweet, crypto honey!
So without further ado, let’s get cracking on our our first Share Chart:
As you can see, there are some very interesting price actions going on here. The biggest bang for the buck isn't always where you think it might be. We will dig into this much further in future posts. For now, we just want to familiarize you with the chart.
The goal is for this chart to be fairly self-explanatory, but since it may not be to everyone, let's break down this fucker.
On your left, we have the card in question. They have been broke down by the season in which it is planted. As you all probably know, only certain crops can be planted in a season, so pay special attention to what seasons you are trying to buy cards for.
Next column is the current cost of one of that card in the marketplace. Now, this has a bit of our own personal touch. We are going to try and find what you could pay for a card after reading this. Meaning if there is just one card for sale at a very low price compared to the others, I won't list that price, as the first person to jump on it would fuckify our whole chart and make it fairly useless. So if you find those deals, hop on the good foot and buy if you like, but we will keep the chart as close to real world costs as possible. (prices fluctuate all the time, so double check prices on-site as they will likely have changed a bit since publication)
Third column is how many shares you can get per card, per season, once planted on a plot. This doesn't take into account any bonuses for different land types, but we feel it would just muddy the waters and create too many data points to check for the casual player. We may be wrong about this, so feel free to give us shit in the comments.
Fourth column is where the meat is in this chart. This column gives you the shares you can expect per Hive invested in each type of card. This is where the comparative value of different cards is laid as bare as a shaved pig's ass. It is crucial to understand that this is NOT the same as shares expected per card. This column is amount of shares expected per 1 Hive invested in those card types. You with us, Home-Skillet?
At the bottom of the chart we included land prices and hive per plot prices. These are added just for your convenience and there ain't a lot of magic happening there, as we haven't added up what to expect from bonuses and the like. New farmers to dCrops should remember you need one plot per seed card you would like to plant in the season, divided by how many crops you can use on that land in a season (Plots can be used continuously through the season, unlike most crops planted on them). If this has you confused, please check out this post from our friend @desecration right here. He has put together a quick spreadsheet that can give you a good idea how many plots you will need, so give him some love and let him know @thechopshop sent ya if you find it useful.
Keep in mind that all prices on these charts are in Hive (or Swap.Hive if you wanna be a nitpicking dick) so if you are looking for dollar values, you will have to do a touch of multiplication on your own.
That about wraps it up for us here in The dCrop Chop-Shop! This will serve as a test run. We will run these for at least the next few weeks and judge if it is worth continuing based on your reception. So please, let us know if this helps you, what we can improve, or if you just want to tell us we are a bunch of shit-bags, that's cool too.

Yes read that too. Great to see some analysis about this game, cause it is so new and not yet well known. Hope people notice this game more.
