Being a lord comes with hard work and so does hunting bounties
Things were about to get more serious with word of Lord Gathbin planning something for the near future, so back at Caed Nua where the newly built warden's lodge, there would be bounty quests waiting to be accepted and completed since it has been too hard for others...
But getting back there was met with a small mob of people, all complaining about what had happened to them and how it was by command of the lord of Caed Nua, TheGoliath which was not true.
"How do you know they were my men? Because they sure as hell weren't and I would not have sent men to do this" said TheGoliath before they asked about what would happen now since they have been shorted out of money from these men.
So being a generous lord, 1000 copper was given to his people, to be distributed amongst them and show his true intentions and that he cares for them which made all the folk happy and thanking TheGoliath for the generosity.
"Ah how much of a thorn in the side of any ruler, is a mob of people. I have news of Lord Gathbin, we should discuss in the great hall" announced Marshal Forwyn.
They discus what is happening which is the army of mercenaries being gathered near Yenwood Field. Marshal Forwyn was sent by the erl as an advisor to aid TheGoliath and his party in forming a counter force to Lord Gathbin's army.
No special allies has offered help yet but there is hope amongst the Knights of the Crucible or other groups, along with some word sent out calling on volunteers of the people surrounding Caed Nua in the lands they occupy.
First bounty in the list was the Dweller which is a massive stone giant and it will slam the party for some mighty hits to their health. A fireball gets cast as per usual for hard fights while Eder knocks down the Dweller, allowing some extra time to cause it some pain before it gets up again and keeps doing the damage, bringing a few party members to around half health, but the summoned Wurms are a big help to this fight and eventually the Dweller goes down with a thud.
When the party moved on to the next area to look for the next bounty target they instead, found a group of mercenaries led by Gramrfel the Wayfarer who were bothering a priest by the name of Durance. Needless to say a fight broke out and the party came to the aid of Durance.
Chill Fog was placed to doing some work on a the mercenaries, followed by a fireball along with Hiravias in cat form casting Returning Storm that does lightning damage in the area, an effective ability with some damage possible on allies as well, though. But the damage from the mercenaries was not enough while the party just tore through them all, saving Durance and accepting him as a new member to the party as backup.
Bounties would have to wait... Leaden Key Agents were set to attack the Caed Nua Great Hall where 8 hirelings had been guarding in case of such attacks, so the party went back and found them all fighting, prompting them to join quickly.
Attacks and abilities were cast, TheGoliath cast Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage for that terror and sickened feeling to be set upon their enemies, with the biggest factor of this fight including Returning Storm by Hiravias doing work once more. It interrupted one agent and stunned them.
After most were killed off, it was cleanup on the last of them and then a thanks to the hirelings for how well they performed and protected the great hall, they were a big help.
"This is why I hired you all, your hard work shows I need you and thank you for being a big part of this defence. Go and have a rest over in the Brighthollow mansion just next to the keep for a few hours and then come back so we can rest and head out again later" announced TheGoliath before the worn out hirelings walked over to rest in Brighthollow mansion.
