Ending Rock Tunnel and finally reaching Lavender Town

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

We next see the final fights happening in Rock Tunnel as Goliath nears the exit and it is about time!

A Grimer from the next trainer gets to be easier than expected since Wartortle managed to do a solid amount of damage and reach level twenty one.

It was a level twenty two Goldeen coming to the table next and it could not withstand one hit of the Grimer's thunderbolt and this was a solid way to earn level thirty.. poison gas was then able to be taught over the disable and it was going to be a helpful move, later when the Pokemon trainer battles are tough and need their Pokemon to be weakened down.

One final battle to end Rock Tunnel wasn't very tough but there were five Pokemon used including a Jigglypuff, Voltorb, Pidgey, Diglett and a Kabuto with the former being the coolest one of the bunch but still taken down with a swift hit of thunderbolt.

That final ladder to get out of Rock Tunnel was reached and it was used in an instant to get out of there, revealing the light and trainers ready for battle.

His Pokemon were still fighting fit for the most part so he decided to do a few of the battles here with the first being right outside the exit.

A Rattata deceives you in this fight because you feel like it might be super easy until.. the second Pokemon she has is a Hitmonlee and the double kick just owns the Wartortle. Out comes Grimer to get a clear run of using two body slam's without losing health, Hitmonlee had used meditate to raise it's attack and that was a mistake because it was now being defeated by a powerhouse Grimer!

Hiker came next who thought he was tough and would win. The Male Nidoran would easily lose to Grimer as expected so he thought his Seel would do just as well. Thunderbolt and one pound to finish it off would see to his laughter coming to an end, Grimer hitting level thirty one and Goliath laughing as he walked off.

Before heading into Lavender Town and without facing a few of the other trainers around this spot, one final trainer faced would start with a Pidgeotto using quick attack being being wiped out by thunderbolt with ease.

A Gastly came next though which got off a couple of night shades for good damage.. until Grimer finished it off with another thunderbolt and Goliath was able to victoriously, move into Lavender Town and heal up his Pokemon before going to the poke mart.

It was shopping time with his freshly healed Pokemon and he would use a good amount to stock up on needed supplies, before spending time talking to people in town and heading towards Cerulean City.

Great balls and super potions were most needed as usual, revives were a much welcomed addition for reviving during tough battles. Super repel for those pesky areas with lots of wild Pokemon to be avoided, then the others like escape ropes even though it was forgotten about having dig to escape, then removing status effects with antidote, paralyse heal etc as you always need a few of each when you have the spare money!

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)

Rock Tunnel is finally over and we reached Lavender Town! 😌✨ Grimer's Thunderbolt move shone like a star! 💥 Especially the battle with Hitmonlee was a complete show of strategy. Wartortle was down for the Double Kick but Grimer recovered nicely. 👏

The shopping part before entering Lavender Town was a good preparation. It's a great detail that you don't forget to take Revive and Super Potion, it saves lives on long journeys! 🛒🐾 Let's see how the team will take shape in the next episode and what you will experience. I'm following 🎮💙

Thank you for a nice write up!
Grimer is such a powerhouse right now and it hasn't even evolved yet. 😁

Revive and super potion will help as will the other items bought. Because I have it a little randomised with what trainers have, sometimes they get Pokemon I don't expect to see. Do stay tuned for more fun filled parts of this Pokemon journey! 🙂

I have so many memories when I see these old graphics. Great!
