Carx Highway Racing Review.

in Hive Gaming10 months ago (edited)

Hello my fellow gamers!! I'm finally here again,with the review I promised to make.
I talked about it a little bit, towards the end of my previous post, and I will try as much as possible to review it in the best way possible in this very post.

Just as scouting for good mobile racing games with good/ decent graphics, led to me downloading need for speed, the quest to get another mobile racing game very similar to the Need For Speed (NFS), made me discover the Carx Highway Racing...and I'm going to review this with respect to Need For Speed.

So speaking of the owners/makers of the game;

This particular game belongs to the company called Carx Technologies, LLC. And apparently, the games owned by this company revolve only around car racing, unlike EA games, which asides car racing games have made other interesting games like the Plant Vs Zombies.

But funny enough, the Need For Speed (NFS), and this Carx Highway Racing, are just two years apart from each other...to be precise, Need For Speed was released on the 16th September, 2015 while Carx Highway Racing was released on 26th July 2017.

So basically the Carx Highway Racing is actually an old game, just like the NFS and obviously what keeps these two games thriving is the frequent updates and in-game events.

My Gameplay Observations;

  • Surprisingly, the game size isn't even up to half the size of the Need For Speed game.

It seats at around 0.93GB, to 1.0GB approx size, which is quite cool, for low storage devices.

  • After downloading the game, I noticed the game, unlike NFS, doesn't depend heavily on Internet connection, as there are many parts of the game that can still be played and enjoyed even without Internet connection.

  • I also noticed that the game was a bit flexible with its display...

I could reduce the graphics quality, and could scale it up to the maximum, making the game playable, even on low end devices, unlike NFS, which comes with a fixed graphics setting.

To be honest, these 3 key differences, between these two games, made me want to like the Carx more than the NFS lol.

  • Still on my observation, I noticed the game is actually relatively easier, compared to NFS (I was able to buy a level 6 car, just 3 days after downloading the game).

Few Similarities Between Carx Highway Racing, and NFS;

  • It's quite difficult to tell which of the two have the best graphics, because the two look really cool, although Carx has more lighting than NFS.

The low lighting in NFS doesn't in any way affect game play though.

  • The two games receive constant updates, although NFS receives more updates, compared to Carx, majorly because the NFS is majorly server sided, and so every new event has to be pushed from the server.

  • These two games, Surprisingly have very similar user interface and structure of story mode, and events...I actually don't know who copied who in this case lol.

  • The two games are fast paced games...although I believe racing games are supposed to be fast paced lol. But I noticed the Carx, seems to be more fast paced, compared to NFS, probably because of the car density in both. When racing in NFS, aside from your opponents, there aren't many cars to obstruct your racing, but in Carx, despite having to race against opponents, you still have to be very tactical, to be able to scale through the crowded tracks.

Well if you ask me to list a few reasons why I still love NFS slightly more than Carx;

  • Firstly, NFS makes use of actual car models, unlike Carx, that modifies real car models, and gives them a totally imaginary name, so as to stay clear of any copyright infringement.
    Unarguably, you can tell that with the above statement, NFS has more authenticity in that aspect.

  • Secondly, the UI of NFS has a proper balance of not too shanty color to make it look more realistic and cool.

  • Thirdly, the frequent updates, makes the game more competitive and challenging and as such, a little more addictive, compared to Carx.

  • Lastly, is the use of jump, and power slide to get nitro faster...I mean racing cars make use of nitro right, and most traditional racing game cars make use of nitro, so making it really hard to get nitro boost, makes the car more like regular cars, and makes the racing a bit too tiring and stressful.

CONCLUSION:

  • Basically, if you are a fan of real racing cars, not too shanty colors, lots and lots of nitro, not too long tracks, then NFS is actually a nice option between the two games.

  • But on the other hand, if you are a fan of really colorful cars, offline racing games, adjustable graphics games, slightly longer tracks, not really a fan of nitro boosts, and you want a relatively easier game, then Carx Highway Racing is the best one for you.

If you were looking for nice racing games to play, I believe you should consider at least one of these two...another one is the asphalt franchise, which I will probably make a review of some day.

The video above just shows a little bit of my general gameplay. And you can click here to view my review on the NFS game...see what I did there?😂😂
