This is it, this is what pure tyranic--. I mean spreading liberation is all about. If the job needs the best, it brings someone like me. Well, someone sort of good enough to getting work done. What's the worst could happen anyway? It's not as if they would step up against us?
No, they actually did. Oh, the true horror when the very Automaton grunts being easy pickings are now wearing armor on top of flying right on top of you. Devastators relentlessly showing up almost everywhere, questioning weapon reliability a lot of times. I'm glad I got enough samples to amplify my orbitals and eagle strikes, as well as sentries. But damn, guys, this was literal purgatory.
Just goes to show that Arrowhead never runs out of things to do. In the span of a year, the game had changed so many times. There's never enough weapons to try out, enough different missions, enemy types to face, it's all à la mode in this juicy giant beef steak.
Ah, well, we have a planet destroyer heading towards us. Another one crumbled to dust by the Meridian Singularity. Many interesting theories are coming about what the black hole could mean for us. But for now, business as usual, only this time with a lot more robots.
The Automatons have launched a full scale assault on Malevelon Creek. Taking back the very planet many have sacrificed to claim. And oh boy, these guys are not kidding around. Oh, I also made my first Warbond purchase after saving credits. More anti-tank placements, some new outfits to try out, though I won't bother changing much (that's just me).
But, man, they have gotten tougher to kill. Incendiary rounds, more live ammos, and I'm seeing fewer grunts and more of the tougher enemies being deployed. I guess the developers figured out we lunch so many anti-tank against dropships, that they're easier to kill.
Now, we're getting twice more dropships, more heavies, more middle units with flamethrowers, more stuff to destroy. But hey, I think they removed the obnoxious turret that's killing us off from the distance. Because more of the same thing, except overwhelming resistance, is what we really need to fight off against. Also, me being stupid sometimes used a grenade launcher placement.
Instead of using the more powerful stuff to take Automatons out. Ok, I'll admit, I always let the better players carry me, I'm just a passenger in all this. But, doesn't hurt to partake in the crazy and learn to realize that the most fun I can have is trying to be an actually better player. In fact, I've gotten better at communicating with other players. Working with them doing these puzzles to finish objectives as complex as they can be. As well as extraction missions that bug out.
I still have a long ways to go in terms of collecting enough samples to upgrade my modules. From level 30 and onwards, I thought it was going to get easier later on, but some people don't help much, either can't actually get there because of the relentless onslaught too.
Even the Termites can get real rough to get around, a lot of new missions are now about eliminating X amount of Termites in limited time. Choosing between sentry placements, ordinance to power weapons. This is good to practice my might against torrents of units. Poisonous gas notwithstanding, although I couldn't tell if that was us or them.
This game gives you a smidgen of breathing room to improvise the given situation. The higher difficulties provided much rarer items to find. Like these weird floating samples, I'm used to seeing boxes, plants, and crystals. These are new to me. Can easily say you get more super credits, and medals, provided you find them in the ensuing chaos of hell.
The support weapons, like the WASP launcher, helped me take out multiple of these Harvesters. Yeah, they have shields, but that thing is weak to almost anything. Actually, these guys are easier to kill than anything at the moment. Voteless and Overseers are easily fended off.
But at one point, the hardest mission we had, Automatons surrounded us in a city block, and they had everything, even the freaking Hulks. So I summoned my Exosuit, and would you believe it, this thing might not be sturdy, but the firepower was enough to stave off so many.
Too bad it wasn't good enough for dropship blasting level of destruction. Which is why it's always encouraged to actively engage in boots on the ground action. Even if that has a higher chance of getting me killed, and leaving us exposed to stupid levels of wanton destruction. No one said being a Helldiver is easy, you live and learn. Even if it cost thousands of lives, literally.
But I've also learned one other thing, and it's how each of us set up our equipment and stratagems. Some of us pick enough to blast off the stronger enemies and destroy base of operations, but a pistol can only take out grunts for so long. Others, need to scout around, wander, and collect items. So, we find a good measurable balance. Heck, you can even be a support unit if you want.
Pro players will solo everything out on their own, but where's the fun in that? I guess that's why the updates are more frequent, enough to warrant the challenge for thousands of us out there.
In the span of over 3 months, we've survived catastrophes, invasions, galactic wars, planet destroyers, bug infestations, and well, that's like somewhere longer than a quarter of the game's life cycle. It has been an absolute blast for me. Never a time it stopped, either.
While I may have a lot of room to improve, and figure out how to better sample collect while scouting, I think I'm plenty good. The last difficult I tried playing was Impossible, after Suicide. And using a grenade placement was the worst decision I made, we were getting blown to smithereens from a simple extraction, and we took out everything. They still kept coming!
Few pro tips, farm as many medals as you can and unlock the primary weapons before trying out. Every single of these become useful after each major update changes the game, and I don't mean because they either got buffed or nerfed. It's very Utilitarian. I've also said it before, but do not be afraid of embracing the crazy, try out support weapons and ordinance many as you want to figure it out. Also, practice your stratagem deployment. Check online for guides like this.
There are too many explosions, bro. How the hell are you supposed to look at your enemies in a storm filled with hundreds of lasers and rockets? Pure chaos!
How nice that the game community is still so alive, that the developers give it love to keep people glued to the screen, the truth that I have not played it but I have enjoyed many funny posts, videos and reels. I love the action it has and the style of gameplay.
Several of my friends rave about this game but one thing that always concerns me about online FPS games (if that is even what this can be considered) is that I fear the community is going to be toxic AF. Has that been your experience at all?
Every community has its bad apples, but this one has been pretty solid so far. There's always somewhere else much worse.
I've been wanting to play this game for a long time! It's a shame it's not available in my country! But every time I see something about this game, I'm always impressed!
Blame Sony, they keep fumbling the bag
