Thank you so much for that. I love the 80s and early 90s era of gaming and also love sharing that interest with all the great people here on Hive. It is an amazing time to be a fan of retro gaming.
Poor bastards getting that impossible game. Often tried to play it on the c64 as a kid, failed miserably everytime. Tried again as a cool adult thinking it would be different. Nope.
I agree with you there, I had a bit of better luck, mostly with the Atari 7800 version, not sure why, maybe I was just used to playing games like this with a joystick. My best friend back then had this on his Commodore 64 years before I found a copy at a yard sale for the 7800 and I had similar results to you on the C64 - I sucked. This game is the epitome of "retro hard".
Wow, Impossible Mission on the Lynx? This is like a dream come true! xD . Those 80s computer videogames memories come flooding back, and you're right, it feels like a perfect fit for the hardware. Epyx practically invented "handheld spy adventure" with the Lynx, so it's amazing Nop90 Nop90 is making it happen.
This keeps it brief, captures the excitement, and throws in a personal touch about childhood memories :D
I am glad to meet another Impossible Mission fan that understands the signficance of this one. It just feels right, no wonky changes like bringing in new characters or anything, just creating a portable version of the classic game which is awesome.
Oh and wanted to say.. your posts about all these neat retro projects are one of the best things on hive!
