Hey there! This is a collection of random factoids relating to video games which I've been amassing for quite some time. I have no other use for them than to simply list them, so here goes:
1) Bully Scholarship Edition is not a port of Canis Canem Edit from the PS2. The original was made on RenderWare while Scholarship Edition was made on Gamebryo.
2) The IW engine and Source still have traces of John Carmack's id Tech 3 in their code, even 22 years later.
3) Midnight Club is a spiritual continuation of Midtown Madness, both being made by Angel Studios (rebranded as Rockstar San Diego).
4) Midtown Madness 3 was made for Microsoft by DICE, because Rockstar acquired Angel Studios.
5) Watch_Dogs's Disrupt engine was initially made for a new Driver game.
6) The studio which made Bubsy 3D, Eidetic (rebranded Bend Studio) went on to make the Syphon Filter series and Days Gone.
7) CD Projekt started their business by selling pirated games in Poland.
8) Angel Studios are the ones who ported Resident Evil 2 on the Nintendo 64.
9) Red Dead Revolver was initially a Capcom game named Spaghetti Western Action Team. This game went into development after the aforementioned Resident Evil 2 port.
10) Zombi U/ Zombi(2015) recycled the title from Zombi(1986) also released by Ubisoft.
11) 007: Quantum of Solace's PS2 version is a cover-based third person shooter, as opposed to the PS3/X360 version which is a FPS.
12) Serious Sam 3's Khnum and Scrapjack eneimes heavily resemble Doom's Baron of Hell and Mancubus because Croteam actually pitched id Software a concept for their version of Doom 4.
13) Every Playstation 3 model can play PS1 games, even the very cheap Super Slim.
14) The original Shadow of the Colossus was supposed to have multiple characters working together to take down the Colossi, but the PS2 couldn't handle it.
