Tonight was my first Season 3 Rocket League Platinum Tournament win. With only a couple weeks left of this Season I didn't think I would get my season 3 tournament winner title. Now that's done, I am relieved and can focus on training for Diamond rank next season! I am so close, I can feel it.
What are Rocket League tournaments?
Competing in tournaments awards you with Tournament Credits that are used to unlock tournament exclusive items and a player title if you are skilled enough to get first place. My plan this season has been opening Prospect Cups only. Prospect Cups cost 1200 Tournament Credits and gives mostly Uncommon and Rare quality items but anything is possible. The next step up is the Challengers Cup which costs 4000 credits and gives mostly Uncommon Rare and Very Rare items with occasional Imports or better. The reason I've been trying Prospect Cup over and over is the fact that I am not very active this season in tournaments. If I spent 4000 on 1 Uncommon item, I would be pretty salty. Atleast with Prospect Cup, anything above an Uncommon is great.
What are the ranks?
Rankings in Rocket League tournaments are like regular ranked play except it isn't split into 3 sub divisions. (E.x. Gold rank considers players from Gold 1-3) Getting first place a couple of times in a row has made me go up ranks in tournaments and the reverse has happend losing the first match a few times in a row.
There are 8 different ranks:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Champion
- Grand Champion
- Supersonic Legend
This season is roughly 4 months. It started April 7th and goes until August 11th. I keep jumping back and forth between Gold and Platinum but my goal next season is Diamond. Season 1 I was Silver/Gold, season 2 I was Gold consistently and barely Platinum. Season 3 I am consistently Platinum and barely Gold.
What did I get?
After this tournament win I have 13300 credits. Not sure how many I had before I started it. I think a couple of hundred? That means I can open 11 prospect cups.

- Croc wood -Rare/Player banner
- Merc: Yaojing -Uncommon/Decal
- Merc: Yaojing (Sniper) -Uncommon/Decal
- Merc: Yaojing (Tactician) -Uncommon/decal
- Merc: Yaojing (Black) -Uncommon/Decal
- Octane: Edgewise (Black) -Uncommon/Decal
- Time For Noise -Rare/Player Anthem
- Grievance (Orange/Scorer) -Very Rare/Wheels
- Yoked-1k -Very Rare/Wheels
- Moon (Cobalt/Acrobat) -Uncommon/Antenna
6 Uncommon, 3 Rares, and 2 Very Rare. I'm not mad that's pretty decent. I really like the Moon Antenna and enjoy collecting Player Anthems.

cool, i played rocket league for a few months and it's too much fun, if you are a fan of soccer, cars and video games, this game is the perfect game for you. i never got to a very advanced level, i remember i was beating the AI easily, i guess i could get a somewhat acceptable level, haha, cheers.
Did you play on ps4?! I am looking to do a giveaway but I need to know there are participant first! It takes a lot of practice like anything else. I feel like after a year I am finally at the "average" level haha I want to write a guide soon on some easy changes to different options settings that would really help lower level players.
