Rising Bonds and New Challenges: Kenshi Chronicles (Part 5)

Intro

In the previous post, we managed to buy a house, which is incredibly useful since we can now store various items and automate tasks.

We've improved our main character's combat skills, though she’s not yet a full-fledged warrior. It’s amusing because whenever other NPCs see her with weapons, they react in surprise, commenting on the fact that she’s a female warrior. This reaction aligns with the game’s story, as in one of the human factions' cultures, women are forbidden from becoming warriors. We intentionally designed our character this way.

A Walk with Marowak

Since we had saved up some money, I decided to take Marowak (our pet) with me to the Shek city. The last time we visited, we bought the armor we’re currently wearing.

The plan was to buy new items and interact with the NPCs.

We ran into trouble on the way, as some bandits tried to steal our food. We had to deal with them, but without fighting, since we were not yet strong enough to handle multiple enemies at once.

I can’t wait for the day when I can dominate this area and take down all these bandits without breaking a sweat.

Arrival at the Shek City

This city is built within a trench-like area with entrances at both ends. You can also buy much larger houses here.

Guard: "Tersatezs talk too much."

Other races refer to us as "Tersatezs." I believe it’s the literal name of our human race, as there are two distinct types of humans in the game.

We can pass through checkpoints without much trouble, which is helpful when infiltrating the Holy Nation, the faction we’ve chosen as our enemy.

Shek Warrior: "What’s this? A Tersatez that fights?"

We spoke with some Shek warriors to learn more about the area.

When interacting with other NPCs, you’re given several response options, and what happens next depends on what you choose to say.

We visited some shops we hadn’t been to before and bought a backpack, which will be handy for carrying resources between cities. I just need to be careful to avoid running into bandits along the way.

Warrior Companion

We met a Shek warrior who had her horns cut off. Apparently, once they’re cut, they don’t grow back. She shared her story with us.

In short, she had no reason to stay in the Shek lands and was looking for a fresh start. She found it intriguing that we were a Tersatez warrior and decided to join us, saying she wanted to fight by our side.

She joined us for free, and she’ll definitely have a front-row seat in our battles against the Holy Nation.

When you get a new character, you have the chance to customize them however you like.

We decided to leave Ruka as she was. We could’ve changed her name, but we left everything as default.

Our group of homies is growing! We gave Ruka our armor since it was too heavy for Eiko anyway.

We’ll keep playing Kenshi, so see you in the next post. That’s all for now!
