Nintendo kills the Pokémon FPS

We know that Nintendo shows no mercy for anyone who uses any of its characters to create an independent project, even if it is not for profit.

This could be seen when this independent developer announced through his social networks this FPS project where you could hunt pokémon of all kinds with weapons such as shotguns or even M4.

This user published some videos and images where he showed his progress, but now, these cannot be found because they have been removed due to copyright claims.

This situation occurred due to a copyright claim made by The Pokémon Company International, Inc. which is part of Nintendo, however, they have not said anything about it, but the one who decided to comment something was the developer. He explained on Reddit that no game code was used, but some models taken from Pokémon, he also said that this would be the first of several projects that would be launched every 30 days but that he was not looking for profit with these.
Despite this, Nintendo decided to show no mercy to this project and now it is not known if it will be release.

Sort:

Nintendo takes down fan content all the time and even stopped a smash bros tournament because the event holders were going to use an emulator to play SSB Melee. I can understand protecting their assets and license here though as Pokemon are meant to only fight each other in a world with no physical harm usually being shown.

I hope the creator of this mod keeps his enthusiasm though! It takes a lot of work to create something and the feeling of it being taken away so suddenly must suck.

Yeah, but its no a mod, it was a game :(
