On Wednesdays Del Forno's has a date night special, for R359 per couple... you get a focaccia to share, a main meal each, a dessert to share and a bottle of house wine (or for us non-drinkers, we got a drink each to make up the price of the bottle of wine)
It was a family members birthday recently and their request was to spend their birthday at Del Forno, so we ventured off in a group of pairs to enjoy this great special... where I spent the evening taking some fun artsy shots of the candles, lighting, drinks in front of the candles and everyones food... it was a fun night!
How damn pretty are these bibles shining through the lemonade, the candle behind the drink added such a pretty effect!
Each drink came with a fun little straw, a delicate twist of whimsy adding a playful vibe to every sip. I love the small intimate touches.
After our shared focaccia, I enjoyed a pasta, a creamy bacon and garlic Alfredo, it was delectable! The husband had a lovely large pizza.
A couple people in our party had the chicken schnitzel which they described as the best chicken schnitzel they had enjoyed from a restaurant... full of flavour and oozing with goodness stuffed with cheese.
I absolutely loved my frozen lemonade, slightly sour with a tint of sweetness.
I grabbed this photo while my husband sprinkled parmesan on my pasta, I was hoping to get a cool aesthetic shot, it didn't work out entirely as I had hoped though.
We ended our meal with the pavlova💕 We were expected a small portion to share between the two of us but what came was a mountain of delicious dessert... so much we couldn't finish it all... it was heavenly! Gorgeously crunchy and chewy meringue smothered in fresh strawberries and sweet strawberry compote with a large cup filled to the brim with vanilla ice-cream! It was the best ending to a great meal!
Also, the presentation, just look how beautiful that masterpiece looks! What is your favourite dessert? This always reminds me of my mom, pavlova is her favourite, we used to enjoy it together when I was younger as our mother-daughter dates!
What a lovely family date night dinner night! We want to head back for a date night just the two of us sometime soon and try some new things!
