In the name of supporting a friend @shawnnft of his initiative, Eating Out community is sending out opportunities for everyone to participate in showing off our eat out experience. If you're my follower, you have already know i don't normally post outside of the HIVE CN or ASEAN HIVE community, partly due to my busy scehdule NOT allowing me yo make post on a regular basis, and therefore i usually send all my posts to those 2 communities for 2 reasons. To support the group, and ultimately ofcourse to maximize my income mind me not hesiate to mention it, who doesn't?
Winter solstice is one of the most important event across all Chinese family. During this time, the tradition for us to get some gulletine ball in ginger soup. Since my family is still very young, the kids doesn't really know how to appreciate the tradition yet, whilst the older generation is not here to make us some sweet deserts, me and ex-girlfriend decided to visit My Dim Sum to get some resdy made gulletine balls.
I found this shop sometimes back before the lock down. We were so worries if they can survive and fortunately they did and thrive. You may find the older post here
Menu has been evolving to cut down wastage and better suit the local customers. Staff are all new faces as i haven't been to this place for at least a year or two. However, the cook is still the same person. Not only i can tell, even my ex-girlfriend can tell. We suspect the chef is actually the boss himselves.
Ex-girlfriend got herself a bowl of curry noodle. Highlight of the curry broth is actualky quite milky, spicy, and a little sour. By the taste, we believe its nyonya style. Please be sure you can only choose to mix flat noodle with rice vermicelli. You can mix any of those with noodle as their noodle are prefixed by batch.
My standard procesure in this shop has been cured mustard noodle. I know, cured mistard may sounded funky to you, you just need to close your eyes and eat it, jusr like Kimchi, you'll start to enjoy it once you get rid of the placebo smell in your brain. This time, it looks slightly different as i noticed the bowl has more sruff this time.
And that's the different, 2 pieces of spring roll are now included with the noodle. We all know, over the past 5 years, inflation sets in and food price has been increasing. I believe whatever decision the government made, in the end our fellow citizens who is going to face the ugly truth of inflation. With the 50% hike, compare to 5 years ago, i think they did a pretty good job to throw in feebies for potential customers.
This is yet another important thing i need to mention. The consiments. The sambal is probablg made of dried squid, probably dried shrimp, mixed in the chilli oil, this us orobably one of the most sexiest sambal i had in my life.
Food is spicy, but not to the extend of shooting flame from my backside. I ordered a bowl of walnut paste. Its not too sweet, and i can taste the walnut.
This is probably the most important part of today's lunch. Since its winter solstice and too busy to make it, paying for a bowl of tang-wan and we done what we came for.
Perhaps, we're rushing to finish up our lunch as we need to pack takeaway food for the kids. I have totally forgotten i need to take a photo of the receipt, but it was too late. The damn thing is now in the dirty bowl. Nevertheless, its an amazing idea of getting dessert drink at the Chinese shop sometimes can be very exiciting eating out.
Yo I been busy. Finally saw and read this. My mom visiting from US so I've been out whole time and back late. haven't even had time to write my own post or even upvote people xD.
I also celebrated winter solstice at my grandma's place with her whole side of the family and also celebrated her birthday.
I've never gone to this dim sum. Is it good enough or nah? it seems a bit fsat food kind of dim sum not the typical chinese chinese roundtable one :P

They have 2 outlet left. Food is good. Pork free. Dim Sum itself is designed to be "fast food" anyways, it all depending on how you wanted to consume it. I didn't take their dim sum, so I can't really comment on their dim sum. I went to this dim sum shop for their noodles and I enjoy it so much that I still don't have the chance to take their dim sum yet.
I guess that's true! Eh no pork but they claim to be authentic dimsum haha how can be @-@. i usually like the pork bone, tsu mai and dan tat if I go to dim sum haha. THese are the best. I've been in KL these days since my mom visit.
