Hi there. In this food post I share a quick lunch at Eataly in Toronto.
Eataly
Eataly is a play on the country name Italy. This company is a chain of large Italian marketplaces with restaurants, food counters, beverage counters, bakery, cafe and retail items.
There are three locations in Toronto. One in Yorkville, one in Sherway Gardens (west Toronto near Mississauga) and one at Shops at Don Mills. The one I went to is the one at Shops at Don Mills.
Quick Pizza Lunch
I wanted to have a quick lunch before I start work on a Sunday. I don't know the name of the pizza slice but here are some pictures.
This slice is bigger than your normal neighbourhood pizza store slice. The price of the slice is around 11 CAD. It is pricey for a slice but 11 CAD for a lunch is okay in terms of Toronto pricing for lunch.
With the ingredients I think it is cherry tomatoes, cheese (don't know which type), prosciutto or ham, arugula and olive oil. The ingredients taste great together. Unlike the local pizza this pizza slice is not greasy. One thing I don't like is that the crust is kind of hard. Be careful with your teeth!
My rating for the pizza slice is 4 out of 5. The taste is great, it is not greasy. Hard crust makes it not a 5 out of a 5. Price is okay given that it is a premium pizza slice. Cost of living and food in Toronto is getting costly as of late anyways.
Buying Other Items At The Eataly Store
This Eataly store is a combination of a market, cafe, grocery store and restaurant. After my pizza lunch I shop for a few items at the store. I purchase two chocolate bars and the Loacker wafer snack. These three items came to around 20 something CAD.
I thought that his Loacker wafer snack is Austrian. It is from South Tyrol, Italy. Tyrol is also in Austria. Anyways these wafers are addictively good.
