Saturday's Family Day Eating Out

in Eating Out16 hours ago

It was Saturday and we allocated it for family's day. Earlier in the week, we had informed our Aunt that we wouldn't be going to her place due to our family-day-out. Our day started off by thanksgiving considering that it was Jansen's 6-month in a row of not having any abdominal complications pain. It used to be once a month of 5-7 days of pain and unable to eat and drink. Truly, our hearts are thankful and grateful.

After cleaning the house in the morning, off we went for lunch. I was craving for Penang char kuey teow and there is only a place for that which is at Taman Melawati.

Tiam Fatt Restaurant

Kheng Soon Char Kuey Teow

This is one of our favourite in the town, and the restaurant consists of variety of stalls for you to choose what you want to eat. I of course went for Kheng Soon Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow. Kuey Teow is a smooth flattened rice noodle. The boss himself is from Penang, therefore it is authentic Penang Char Kuey Teow, although he had omitted the cockles ingredients because he himself believes that eating cockles is not good for health. We can accept that.

A very delicious full of charred wok-hei spicy char kuey teow with duck egg, loaded with eggs, prawns and Chinese sausage, as well as bean sprouts. Yums!!! My husband and I shared this plate of noodle.

Salmon Fish Head Noodles

We saw a new shop there selling salmon fish head noodles and this is always my favourite. So husband ordered for me, saying that I always cooked salmon for the boys but I, myself usually didn't eat because salmon is not cheap. So, time to love myself a little. The noodle dish was not that delicious and the soup was undertaste but still, I am not particular eater, it still passed my tastebuds. I also shared this with my husband.

YC Chicken Chop Rice

My son would definitely ordered chicken chop whenever there is such stall. This time, instead of ordering the chicken chop with rice, he tried their chicken chop with pasta. The boss asked whether my son wanted to add some Korean BBQ meat into his pasta, of course he said yes and with a slight increase in price. Overall, my son always said the chicken chop here is super nice, it was so well-marinated, the skin crispy and flavourful. The meat had that nice chicken taste.

Economy Mixed Rice

My youngest son was not hungry so I packed his rice from the economy mixed rice..I took for him a braised pork belly and tofu egg. And I took for myself some bitter gourd. The dishes sold at this mixed rice was always delicious, although undeniably they charged more expensive.

After lunch, we went to a mall for some drinks because the husband wanted to have a small meeting with the boys to talk about time management. The boys were so attentive, whenever the father speaks out, there is just one authority which I don't have. Good to have a meeting like this. And some curry puffs to munch and a cold chocolate drink to sip while they were having the meeting — to ease them up a little.

Later on, we went to supermarket to grab some groceries.

A purposely family day!

Look at Jansen gaining more weight now, chubbier!
