Ever since I shifted to hometown, my eating out options has been limited. We do jot have big restaurant of cafe shop that carter to the high demand of the people. When I was in city, I used to be regular in various restaurants and food courts. Inhace tasted almost all the cuisines served at those places. I do not have any special liking left for anybofbthe dishes. Now as I limited myself to homly food and limited eating, few of my relatives assumes that I never tasted any of the big restaurant food. This is what inobserve today, when my nephew took me to one of the restaurant for trying something unique. And I ended up with nostalgic memory.
While out on a shopping spree to a nearest town. Me and my nephew opted to eat some snacks to kill the hunger. My nephew quite younger than me alwsys used to pretend that he is much smarter and enjoyed every delicies. We went to New Bombay sweets on his recomndation. He was insisting that he will treat me with something that I never tried before. With such confidence, I was too intrigued to find the new dish.
New Bombay sweet house, is located in one of the busiest locality of the town. As the name suggest, it is a common sweet shop that are availavle around various town area. But recently the shop get into restaurant and snack item business. They have established a good shop with nice sitting arrnagement in the shopping area.
I really like the Green shades of chairs, it gives quite a nice vibes to the place.
While the front part of the shop was occupied with all kind of sweets items, the food and eating table for snacks and other Indian dishes were at the back portion. There were many people at front area buying sweet. I do not capture the pictures. As it may appear crazy and people might not like. The back area was empty, with lot of chairs with nice ambience. There was not many rush. Thanks to some greenery decoration on the ceilings, as well as the windows. The back wall had some goffting option.
The ceiling were besutifully decorated. The other side of the windows, had the serving area, that serves the differrnt snacks. The counter was quite clean and hygienic.
What I like most at those restaurant, was that theybseves you right on table. Such things were missing in food chain restaurants like haldieam or bikanerwala. As we sat down, we were served with Glas and a bottle of RO water. The table was clean too and had a napkin boxes and the restaurant menu card.
While my nephew already ordered something and I was waiting for the surprise. In between I was trying to get proper vibes of the place. The cocktail area was well kept with sample drink, just to woo the customers.
The place is very quite due to absence of customers. It was a peaceful place but soon few customers join us in adjacent tables. Meantime our ordered were served to us, and it comes out to be Raj Kachori. One of my favourite and common snacks that I always order during my earlier days.
The item is not knew to me and as I said thr name my nephew was surprised, as I was very familiar with this dish. It was a thin cruncy ball, filled with many item in middle and covered with sweet curd. Customer need to break the ball and mix all the items before eating. It used to be quite heavy as a snack.
It was a funny moments, as I surprised my nephew, and he accepted that I had pretty good experince of eating out at various restaurant, while I was in metropolitan city. It was a good eating experince at a new place though. These small restaurants are trying to keep up the pace with popular food chain in India. Such big brands were hesitate to enter small towns and alwsys carter the need of big cities, these small restaurants were catching up nicely with the dishes. I liked it, and much cheaper as compared to big brands.
I had a good eating out after a long time and really enjoyed the the with my nephew.

Yes haldiram is best for Raj kachori, infact it was them who introduced it. The popularity has taken the dishes to small places. However the stuffing is not that good, had lots of peas and moong ..
