Whether you watch K-dramas or not, Korean food is to die for! It's everything mouthwatering, from their wonderful ramens, noodles, samyang, gimbap, and kimchi to their street foods such as tteokbokki and fish cakes, among others! My mouth is practically watering as I write about Korean food; I wish I could have teokbokki and carbonara samyang right now!
If you, like me, who enjoy Korean foods or who wanted to try Korean foods, I really suggests that you must come here and enjoy the vibe!
So let me bring you to Seoul Stop Kmart! Seoul Stop Kmart is located in Yati, Liloan, Cebu, just beside Mactan Bank. It is a convenience store that opens at 8 AM and closes at 4 AM. So, if you’re craving something at midnight, this is the place to go! While the space is limited, it feels cozy and can accommodate about 15 people comfortably. The staff are super friendly and have this calm aura that makes you feel welcome. They’re also very helpful if you’re not familiar with how to use the equipment, plus they even have a poster guide to assist you. Plus you can also use their ramen bowl and utensils freely, they are not very strict when it comes to using their things unlike other restaurants or places.
What I love about this place is that it also excites my anime heart! Imagine walking into a store and seeing shelves of figurines from One Piece, Naruto, Solo Leveling, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Black Clover—it felt like stepping into an anime wonderland! If my eyes could turn into hearts, they definitely would! I wanted to buy at least one figurine so badly, but sadly, I only had enough money for food since this visit wasn’t planned. I really had to come back here to not only eat Korean food but to also buy one of my favorite anime character figurine.
Sometimes, I only get to visit places like Seoul Stop Kmart when I’m with my friends. They always know the coolest spots to eat and hang out! That is why I really have to save money because they like going to coolest spots to eat and hang out. Our visits are usually filled with endless laughter, sharing funny stories, and just bonding over good food. This trip was even more meaningful because we were with two friends who had to stop college due to personal reasons. We don’t get to see them as often now, so moments like this are so special.
For me, this visit wasn’t just about the food—it was about being present, talking about life, and creating memories. Food has a way of bringing people together, and this visit truly reminded me of that.
When it came to ordering, my closest friend and I decided to share tteokbokki and got bulgogi with rice as our main dish. Of course, I couldn’t skip the seaweed—it’s like an unspoken rule if you’ve seen how it’s paired in K-dramas or vlogs. Every bite was worth it, even if it was slightly over our budget as students. If I recall, I think we paid more than 500 pesos and paid it in half.
If you want a mix of spicy and sweet flavors—or anything that perfectly combines the two—this is the place for you! The bulgogi with rice that we ordered turned out to be extremely spicy for me, despite my companions' insistence that it wasn't. Korean cuisine is known for its solid, savory, and spicy dishes, and while I usually can't handle too much spice, there's something about Korean food that keeps me coming back for more. Even if my mouth burns a little, I can't resist the rich and exquisite flavors of Korean cuisine.
The store itself is minimalistic but super cozy, with a cold air-conditioned space that’s a relief on hot days so it is very comfy and aesthetic. Their products are reasonably priced, and students like us can grab a quick meal for just 80 pesos. They even have non-food essentials like wet wipes and lotions and many more! While the setup is mostly self-service, the staff are always ready to help if needed, they are very observant that sometimes you don't need to call for them. There’s even free Wi-Fi, so you can study, do research, or just chill while enjoying your food.
I highly recommend visiting Seoul Stop Kmart with your friends. It’s a great place to eat, talk, and live out those cute moments we see in K-dramas and vlogs. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself to delicious food and amazing company. If you ever decide to visit the place, don’t forget—it was me who showed you this hidden gem! 😉 Now go enjoy it and thank me later! 🎉
