This week the theme is:
FLOWERS OR ROSES
Let me introduce you to a very special plant in our garden with surprisingly beautiful flowers. This plant is called Garlic Vine. The Garlic Vine (Mansoa Allicea) gets its name from the distinct garlic smells produced when the leaves are crushed, although this woody climber is not related to the common garlic at all! It also produces spectacular clusters of purplish, funnel-shaped blooms that emit a garlic smell too.
The photos below show the Garlic Vine Flowers from the time it started to flower upto full bloom.
A beauty but if you hate garlic it's a stinker as well. But for those who love garlic, the leaves and flowers of the Garlic Vine can be eaten and it will still add a garlicky taste to your food. The reason for this is that it shares some similar chemicals like sulfides and some oils from the plant making it taste and smell like true garlic. Wow. Now that's what I would call Beauty and Blessings.
For this contest, my entry is the fourth picture.
And that's all folks. Thanks for visiting. Please remain safe and healthy and may you have a wonderful week ahead!
