My post goes for Multitopics Contest. Week #16 topic was MUSHROOMS!
Let's start today's mushroom walk with the most beautiful and recognizable mushroom of a Russian forest.... Amanita muscaria! This is a toxic mushroom that nevertheless has a lot of useful medicinal properties. Don't pass it by silently... at the very least, you can take great photos!
Amanita muscaria!

Russula is a very common and numerous family. Here I met Russula rubra (probably). A very ordinary and not outstanding edible mushroom, but it is always a pleasure to photograph it - it can be very photo-friendly due to the varied and bright color of the cap, as well as the fashionable wildly curved forms, especially in mature mushrooms.
A few Russulas after rain.
This is Léccinum scábrum - good edible mushroom from the Boleto family (not the best one of them - due to its soft body, it does not stand in the forest for a long time waiting for you mushroom hunters!). By the way, this baby grew up right in my garden. We have a lot of spruce trees, birches and a few oaks - enough to support the mycelium.

Gomphidius glutinosus has a good taste and aroma, but is considered as a 4-grade mushroom and "conditionally edible", since it requires a long preparation in the form of boiling. It is a lesser known edible mushroom.
And this is a completely inedible mushroom, Black-legged Polyporus (Picipes melanopus - its tough glossy cap can still look very impressive! I remembered the spot where it occure, and I have been meeting it for two years in a row.
Hope you enjoyed walking with me! Next time.

Those snails are beautiful, how is this mushroom even supporting all 3 of them 😁
And is this water in the Amanita? I read somewhere for the Oak trees, when water is collected the same way somewhere on the tree, the water becomes medicinal...it takes the energy of the tree...
maybe. sounds plausible. the water is a complex deal, a lot of intresting issues are connected with it, and can be discovered ...
the 1st pic is an aged Amanita shroom, and thus its cap edges rised and turned into a medium-sized teacup -- serve as a decent bath for little froggies!
let me treat you with a !BEER (better keep it in a fridge till the evening -- do not start with it the day right away : )
😁 ok I will keep it for later, thank you.
And this picture is also a treat I have to say, never seen a scene like this :) Its adorable 🍄❤️
oh, well... glad to please you! but you definitely must have those amanitas around you, right?.. the mission is just like that: find any aged Amanita, add some water from a water bottle that you brought with you, and get a little froggie from your pocket that you brought with you to the forest. the hardest part is the aged amanita, everything else is not impossible. : )))))))
Oh, yes completely possible :))))) The frog will probably jump in my pocket alone when she hears I am preparing her an amanita bath 😁 you are right, the hardest part will be aged amanita
will be jumping out towards the said amanita, ofc... sure thing, the frog will be delighted to have this special medicinal bath... once in her lifetime, maybe! 😜😜 and completely for free, that does matter too! 😂
btw, where are your new posts? probably with this long Christmas holidays you became a lazy bee (same thing with me!) well, its time back to work ;)))))
pps. are you in the know of this brilliant French cartoon serial 'Minuscule'?
do check it with your kidz if you didnt yet.
Aww , thank you for noticing. I was working on a project, identifiers of plants, clouds, etc for kids....and I've been slacking with Hive. Hopefully something will turn out of it...🙄🙂
And as for Miniscule, we've seen it and we loved it. The kids haven't seen it in a while, thank you for reminding me this sweet movie, they might appreciate it more now when they are older :)
We also love studio Ghibli movies, Totoro, Spirited away ...have you seen any of those?

Mushrooms are healthy foods with very high vitamin values in terms of nutritional value. I love mushroom dishes. All the mushrooms in the picture I see now look very nice to my eyes. Of course, it is necessary to be very careful with the poisonous ones. You took very nice pictures, thank you.🙏☺️
