Summer Is Here ๐
Hurray it's the first day of Summer and, aptly enough, the warmest day of the year so far. It's also the longest day of the year, aka Summer Solstice" in the northern hemisphere. ๐ค
Well, if we're being pedantic, it was actually yesterday that was the cosmologically accurate solstice. 21st of June is just the generic marker because we know it happens on or near the day. That is, if we collate summer solstices over a decade, say, most of them will fall on the 21st June.
I found my old basketball in storage while clearing things out for the new season. It's one of my oldest possessions that I still have. I bought it many solstices ago when I actually played basketball for my college team. We were quite good at the time. I had a very respectable vertical leap and was very swift so I was quite difficult to stop. Those were the happy days when my knees were still strong even though they were already injured a decade earlier when I did athletics in school.
Who knows, I may go check out the local hoops. Maybe I've still got it. ๐
I've been taking advantage of the good weather and warmth to work outdoors on my computer. I have the privilege of being self-employed so I can do such things. I've also been able to keep an eye on the plants in the yard that are currently bearing fruit. In fact I harvested some raspberries today which I immediately ate right in front of onlooking squirrels and birds haha. They were waiting for their opportunity to swoop in and grab the fruits for themselves I bet.

It turns out that squirrels and birds also wait for fruits to be ripe and don't just eat them at the slightest appearance. I wonder if they will preempt me this time, having gloated in triumph right in front of them today. hahaha. I have some jostaberries ripening and the wild creatures love those. There are quite a few of them so I'm willing to share I guess. If I'm able to get at least half of them, I'd be happy with that.๐

I actually got in our pool today. It's not heated. Our raspberries have been amazing this year. I think all the rain helped. Enjoy!
Oh man I wish I had a pool haha. It's going to be quite warm this week!
