Greetings!
One of my first bottle gourds is still thriving and producing fruits this year. It is one of the five that is only left that I planted last May. Last month I attempted to plant another batch of Bottle Gourds but they were all consumed by insects (they eventually), I did try 2-3 times but they all were consumed by insects and worms. But this week I eventually was able to grow some and thank God there were no insects and worms this time to eat them. I guess it is because it hasn't been raining for a long time. The ones eaten by worms and insects were planted when it is frequently raining.
Another batch of Bottle Gourds
Here are two of the seven Bottle Gourds that were able to survive the insects and worms that ate the previous Bottle Gourd that I planted.
Worm/insect problem on my Snow Cabbages
Aside from the Bottle Gourds some of my Snow Cabbages are also under attack. I do not exactly if what kind of insects are eating them. I am sure it is not worms because I do not see any worms on all of the Snow Cabbage with damage. It makes me sad because their leaves are very wide and green.
Insect problem on my Eggplants
My eggplants were not also spared by worms. This time I am sure that work is causing the young shoots of my eggplants to turn dry because when I cut them and I check the inside of the stem there's a worm inside it. My eggplants are the only ones having this problem (worms are inside). But I guess it is one of the weaknesses of eggplants. If this continues on the second batch that I am going to plant I will be forced to use insecticides once again.
Introducing my first-ever Ribbed Loofah
Ribbed Loofah is also one of my favorites. Ribbed Loofah is a versatile vegetable that can be cooked in multiple. One of my favorite way of cooking this vegetable is by "Inabraw". I am so excited to harvest them in about 2-3 days.
Transplanting my Papayas into individual containers
If you happen to follow my blog I experimented with planting Papaya and it was a success, I think all of the seeds that I planted successfully germinated. This will be my first in planting Papaya and today I am going to transplant them individually in a container where I will continue to grow them until they are ready to be transplanted in their permanent location. I am planning to mass produce Papaya and sell them to the market and I hope I will be successful.
Second trimming of my Bananas
A few months ago I planted Bananas about 50 meters away from our house. I was able to harvest some fruit also a few months ago. Now, there are two that already have fruits and I think in two months they will be ready for harvest. And today, I have some time to spare to trim their leaves. Check the before and after photos of some of my Bananas.
That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
It's so distressing when insects or weeds take over our plants, but I have all the confidence in your level of expertise to turn everything around.
Your bananas look lovely.
Happy Sunday:)
Thank you.
And yes, it is indeed distressing. Thank yo for dropping by, have a nice day ahead.
Worms and harmful insects are some of the most mortal enemies of a Gardener😁. When we sees our plants and vegetables loosing its leaves because of worms, we felt very mad of it.
Your plants grows very healthy. Success is always in you Bro.👍
I agree, and sometimes it makes me sad.
