Hello friends, I came home for a few days to my mom's house and I was able to observe how her garden is going. In this area of the Venezuelan plains there is currently a climate that varies and is almost unpredictable. It is a mixture of very intense sun with rain that can vary in a matter of minutes. Temperatures range from 32° C to 42° C.
The situation with the climate has affected the plants a little, when the sun is very intense the leaves burn and sometimes even the stem is completely bent. But when it rains a lot the water revitalizes them.

My mom has a great passion for medicinal plants, so drinking one of these plants in her house has become something commonplace. However, we can find a great variety of species, fruits and vegetables.
This also attracts a great variety of beautiful insects such as butterflies of various shapes and colors, with the pleasant visit of hummingbirds flying from flower to flower. Look at this beautiful dragonfly that I found roaming the place, I loved its color.
In this garden there is a great variety of plants, I think there are more than 100 species, I'm just going to show you some with an emphasis on medicinal plants.
They call this plant Oregano "Orejon", they say it is a natural antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. It can be used in flu processes, when you have flatulence or menstrual pain. This plant should not be consumed frequently as it can be harmful to health if it is abused in its consumption.
"Colombiana" (Kalanchoe pinnata) is another plant that is also used as an antibiotic and to eliminate breast and ovarian cysts, it is taken as a tea. As it is anti-inflammatory, my mother usually puts a leaf of this plant, passed through fire, in inflamed areas.
We have other varieties like chaya, which my mother uses for the flu.
Her last acquisition was this one they call penicillin. Its color is very pretty, it gives a touch of color to the garden.
The high temperatures wreaked havoc on her mint and she is just recovering it.
This month she is harvesting guavas, this type of guava is yellow inside. With the leaves of this plant a tea is also prepared that is relaxing and some people say that it helps to improve the immune system.
The lemons are starting to harvest, they are an excellent source of vitamin C. With the high temperatures we have included it in our daily hydration, adding a few drops of lemon in the water we drink.
The garden has also surprised her with a banana or "topocho". The chives are also growing quite a bit, she has planted them in recycled pots.
Despite the intense sun we have had these days, the rainwater provides a number of vitamins that are unique to plants, which is why some plants look beautiful with flowers.
The medicinal plants that I have shown we use in my family taking them in infusions or tea and they are not harmful if taken with caution, however each person must make sure that their consumption does not cause them adverse effects.
Hugs for all friends who love gardening. 🤗🌿🌺🌼

Your climate is very different from where I live, so you can grow many things we cannot. I love the idea of growing medicinal plants, even though I have not tried it.
