Hello friends, a couple of days ago I moved into my new home and for the first time I have a backyard with a lot of space and plants. I would like to share it with you and if you can advise me what crops I can plant next.

The backyard is about 30 square meters and I have a wide variety of plants and trees that the previous owner planted.

My favorites are three guava trees that the previous owner told me, bear fruit for most of the year (I lived in Cuba, a tropical island in the Caribbean so the weather is not a problem). Luckily the guava is one of my favorite fruits so I will enjoy them a lot.

I also have several banana trees of various different species, around 20 plants. The banana is a common food in my country and we have a lot of recipes to prepare it.

We also have papaya trees, this is another very sweet and fleshy tropical fruit, excellent for making sweets, juices or eating them chopped when they are ripe.

There are some yucca plants (a very common tuber around here) scattered around the patio. It is almost ready to harvest. And a few sugarcane plants and also aloe vera.

I also have some pumpkin plants that are now in the flowering stage.

The previous owner also planted some corn, but apparently the land is not ideal for this crop as the plants did not develop well.

This is a hybrid between lemon and banana.... Na kidding, this bunch of bananas grew between the branches of the lemon tree. The lemon tree also has fruits, I have already been able to prepare lemonade with them.

We also have 2 mango trees but the season is over

Finally, in front of the house I have three almond trees full of fruits.

With all this space I have been thinking of trying to plant some tomatoes, coriander and oregano. I would also like to create some type of irrigation system that makes it a bit easier for me to water them all.

What other crops would you advise me to plant? I read them in the comments. Thank you.

With corn and tomato plants, you need a lot of sunlight. They won't grow well if there's too much shade for them.

Thank you, I'll have it in mind. In the backyard there is plenty of shade from the banana trees. What would you suggest me to plant in these conditions?

I don't know much about hot climate plants, so I don't have any good suggestions for you on what you might plant.
