RE: Garden Journal, Beginning of October Garden Report

According to the information that I have, borage is helpful for most plants, especially strawberries, squashes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and cabbage. It is supposed to attract predatory insects as well as bees, and is supposed to repel many pests.
Basil is also supposed to be good as a companion plant for tomatoes and peppers.
The only problem that I have with borage is that it reseeds it's self pretty much everywhere in the garden. That's not really a problem, you just have to pull out the plants where you don't want them. The plants get big, so they can cover bare soil which helps to keep down the weeds a bit, at least under the plants.
