Hey, gardeners. What's up! In my area, the weather is really out of control right now. The hot weather, then comes rain with strong winds.
The really uncontrollable weather lately has made me have to be extra sensitive to my plants. I can't be late to install plant supports. Last month, I was late in installing plant supports, so all my tomato plants were not saved, then I had to start everything from the beginning. But that's okay. Learn and keep learning.
This August, my birth month, and I had my birthday a few days ago. I am very happy that I finally started planting my garden again. The garden in my yard looks green even though it's not completely green. It all takes time.
Let's start my garden tour, starting from the front area of my terrace. There are various kinds of my favorite vegetables. I have transplanted them since the beginning of last month. There are pak choy. pagoda mustard greens (tatsoi), also mustard greens. In the pot, there are also broccoli plants. This is my first time planting broccoli. I hope the results will be good even though the size of the broccoli heads will be smaller compared to planting in cold areas.
Next, there are some cauliflower plants that I managed to propagate from old plant shoots. They are already a month old after being transplanted.
Continuing to the side of the house, I have a water apple fruit tree that I planted in a large pot. I have planted this fruit plant for a long time so now I am pruning it to keep it healthy. Then, only a few good fruits are left and ready to harvest.
This is a type of honey water apples. It is called "honey" because it tastes very sweet like honey.
The texture of the inside is similar to cotton but crunchy.
Before showing my cucumber plant, I will show you some of my red chili plants. This red chili plant still looks short but has flowered a lot.
Continuing to another area. A few months ago, I planted this area with pak choy. This month, I planted it with cucumbers. These cucumber plants are already two weeks old after being transplanted.
These cucumber plants look good and are growing well because I keep watering them around these raised beds. I hope they will bear lots of fruit later.
In the area next to the cucumbers, there are shallots that I transplanted a week ago. This time I planted shallots directly from seeds, not from bulbs to save money because shallot bulbs are quite expensive.
There are also shallots that are already 2 months old and have produced many bulbs. I just fertilized them using organic fertilizer last week. They look great with beautiful bulbs!
In this large raised bed, I planted water spinach yesterday and it took about five days to see them start to germinate.
So, right now, we can't see their sprouts yet. It still looks like an empty expanse of land but actually, there are already water spinach seeds in the soil that are struggling to grow.
As a replacement for the tomato plants that did not survive because of the rain and strong winds, I finally planted tomatoes again. But, cherry tomatoes for this one. Only in polybags. Let's see later, hopefully, they can survive.
At the end of August's garden journal, I have red long beans that I planted using used water gallons. This is the first time I tried this method. Also, this is the first time I planted red long beans. I like to do new experiments to keep me from getting bored. Well, happy gardening, everyone!

This post conveys many feelings. First I start by wishing you the best that life can offer you in this new return to the sun that you are starting, and those good wishes include your plants. I felt a little sad for those that lost tomatoes, but your way of seeing the positive side of everything encouraged me a lot, and that's what it's all about to start again learning from mistakes.
Sometimes I miss Hive for a long time because of work, but I hope to coincide with those future little sprouts of broccoli, since it represents a new challenge for you and besides, your posts are my only real approach to gardening lately 🤣 I have faith in you, it will be wonderful in time... Hey!, those honey water apples really impressed me, I've never seen anything like that. Thanks for taking the picture of the inside, I really checked that they were apples, because they don't look like that at first glance 😅
in life, we have to move on fast, so when you are gardening, so many things happen and do not be sad. just start over and everything will be fun :)
