Hello, plant lovers! How are you and your plants?

I have been a plant lover since the pre-pandemic days, but my love for it grew more during the lockdown because it has been my stress reliever. I have succulents and cacti and leaf plant collections. I will post about them in my next blogs.

For now, I would like to share my favorite philodendron plant, the pink princess.

Have you seen this plant? Here in the Philippines, it is famous, rare, and expensive. I have discovered this through scrolling on my Facebook feed. A lot of my friends post about it, and it looked beautiful. When I saw this, it caught my attention and I was eager to have one.

So, I looked for an online seller who sells plants that are cheaper than others. Fortunately, I saw one and I immediately messaged her and purchase it. She agreed to deliver it to my home, and I was thankful and excited. I bought it for P500 or $9.72. It is usually sold for around P2,500 or $50.

When I got my plant, it was still small, and I was nervous to transfer it to another plant. However, I successfully replanted it and it grew as time go by.

Let us take a closer look at the plant to appreciate it more.

The pink princess plant is a rare kind of philodendron, and its attractive feature is its color pink. It is also the thing that caught my attention. It looks beautiful in person and it makes me want to stare at it. It is pleasing to the eyes, that is why I fell in love with it.

From what I have heard, this plant has two varieties: the dark form and the marble. I think mine is a marble pink princess because of its pattern on the leaf.

Based on my experience, taking care of plants is not easy because it needs constant effort, attention, and patience.

As for this plant, I am taking care of it by the following:

  1. I planted it in coconut husk pieces mixed with a small amount of soil and rice hull so that the water will get drained easily.
  2. I water the plant when the soil is dry. I can say that it is dry when I pat the soil.
  3. I do not expose it to too much sunlight, I placed it in a shady place.

These are the things that I do to grow my pink princess plant, and I am hoping to propagate it more. The more the merrier!

It is indeed my stress reliever because seeing it grow beautifully makes me happy and proud. It was worth my money.

Did you also feel in love with the plant?

I hope you enjoyed my blog!

Wow, I'm one of those who love to have this plant and I was aiming for so long to own one but sadly I can't afford and it's really rare to find.
