The trunk is full of Plants ! Just a foretaste of our forthcoming Planting Session

in HiveGardenlast year

I like to test the maximums to see how far I can go, how far I can hold out or whether I can go any further... Hello dear Hivers, I hope you're well, at least better than the boot of my little car, a Clio ! This time round, I think it would have been difficult to put in a single plant, let alone an extra tree !

IMG_3082.JPG

Here's the load I recently picked up from a nursery near our home in the countryside... Fortunately, I went alone because I would have had to leave people by the side of the road ^^ and also, the people in the shop helped me load, otherwise I don't think I could have managed !

IMG_3084.JPG

In the end, I went to another shop selling organic produce to pick up some fresh food. Just goes to show, between all the lavender, there was still a bit of room !

IMG_3138.JPG

Here are the trees all tidied up and wisely waiting for their new location... which, if all goes well, will surely be their last ^^.

But let's have a quick look at what I've brought back...

IMG_3139.JPG

So let's start with what I wanted most... A chestnut tree ! If you've seen my recent posts, you can't have missed this, hehe !

IMG_3140.JPG

I took several climbing plants, including two honeysuckles and a passionflower. Two plants whose flowers are so beautiful and perfume the garden !

IMG_3141.JPG

Then there are several fruit trees, like this pear tree above... "Good Christian" is the variety :)

IMG_3142.JPG

Ah, this one isn't a fruit tree, but a Japanese maple with two-tone leaves. I also like the ones that are all deep red.

IMG_3143.JPG

And here are two more fruit trees, a plum and an apple trees, both of which I can't wait to taste !

IMG_3151.JPG

Now we're ready to go and plant, but that's a story for another day !

I hope you've enjoyed this quick update and don't hesitate to give us your best planting tips. Thank you for taking the time to visit and read our site.

Have a good weekend,

<3

<3

It must be such a great feeling to fill your garden with plants. I'm so sorry I keep missing your posts - I keep thinking - ah! a post from Anttn! And then not coming back to it. My bad. xx

 last year

Indeed, it’s a great pleasure ! But, ouch… Our backs feel it too ^^

No problem, I sometimes, unfortunately often, act the same hehe !

I hope you’re both doing well 💚

Oh wow that's a great selection of trees and plants. So exciting to be planting them xxx

 last year

Yeeeees ! Finally, the orchard is starting to fill up haha :)

Have a lovely day ahead dear @trucklife-family 😘

 last year

That is indeed lots of plants on your trunk and I love looking at them. Good evening!

 last year (edited)

Thanks you ☺️

I can’t wait to see them in the spring and making an update about !

Have a good evening as well 🌱

 last year

You're welcome, have a nice day ahead.

If you asked me to guess what one of these trees is, I would definitely say chestnut because I know how much you love it. It can be very difficult to carry them in the car, luckily my dad has a van :)

 last year

Ahh, a van would be the dreamed vehicle for this indeed !! But that was fun hehe :)

You guessed right 😅 seems like I will soon have no more secrets left haha !

Have a good Sunday evening dear ✌️

Have a nice one as well man

The plants are really looking nice and healthy
Nice one!

Plantez donc moi tout cela :-)

Ça y est ! Tout est bien en terre :))

ha,ha,ha,ha it's good that you found people to help you. I like plants but it would be very difficult for me to choose which one to buy. I hope they decorate your garden and we can watch them grow. Best regards.

Wow! You got nice plants and they will all grow well, especially the pear, though most of the plants sounds new to me.

That's a nice selection you got there! I'm certain the fruit trees will serve you well. All 3 kinds (apple, peach and plums) are quite robust and should be able to provide a nice harvest a few years down the road. But keep in mind to cut them a bit every year so the "strngth" gets into the fruits and to keep harvesting reasonable. I'm certain there will be somebody around who can show you how to do that properly in case you don't know yet.

 last year

Haha, this is so true, even while selecting and buying those, I was already thinking about the future cutting :) I’m happy that it’s you tell me that !

Do you think it would be necessary to cut them a bit in the first Spring, in few months or so ? In fact, I would like to keep the not too big, but for sure, one of the neighbors will be able to teach me that !

Thank you again for all your good advices ☺️ !

:D I can imaginge! And it was my pleasure!

I'll be bloody honest with you. I'm not the best source for information about that. But as far as I know, most of the fruit trees should be cut either right after the harvest or somewhere around autumn. But I'm nowhere a professional about that. So maybe you can find one of your neighbors with some experience or you may be lucky to find a professionist (gardener) who is willing to tell you some about it.
The internet may be another good source of information. There are so many nice people out there willing to share their knowledge and experiences. <3

 last year

Thanks for your honesty on this subject hehe

I've already spotted a few very good books on the subject, but I like the idea of finding someone nearby, and in fact one of the neighbors here, whom I haven't met yet, is a horticulturist... So I'm thinking of trying to get in touch with him :)

Thanks again @aaskablackwolf !

This is a very useful plant to plant,I like to plant around where I live
