🥰🌿🌿 Cultivate Coriander's Microgreens🌿🌿🥰

in HiveGarden2 days ago

Hello, all of my friends of the Hive Universe. How are you all? I hope you are all well by the grace of the Almighty. Today I want to talk about microgreens.

Recently I learned about microgreens. Microgreens contain more nutritious than fully grown vegetables. It contains 4–40 times more nutrients. These microgreens are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and so on.

It's some other benefit like

  • It helps to prevent cancer
  • It improves digestive system
  • It is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-diabetic properties.

After knowing all about its benefit, I wanted to cultivate microgreens. Then I know about how to cultivate them.

I go to the market to buy seed and coco peat to cultivate microgreens. I buy coriander seeds and spinach seed and also red amaranth. I will buy radish seeds and other seeds in the next few days.

To help the germination process, I put coriander seeds in the water for 24 hours. Then after 24 hours, I came out of those seeds from the water.

Then I prepare the seedbed for the seeds by using cocopeat and I also add some soil. I prepare the seed bed in the pot that I get from after breaking my big water-containing pot which is made of clay. I buy the pot to cool my drinking water. I do not drink by putting in the freeze because of my cold issue. But after two months, my pot was broken. I became so sad. Then one idea came to my head that was I can cultivate seed or plant here.

I sow half of the seeds in the soil and half of the seeds in the water. At first, I put those seeds in a plastic box. When it germinates, I transfer them in a pore bowl.

Under this bowl, I put another bowl that is filled up with water.
I change the bowl of water every day. When I sow the seed, at first, I take a tissue paper then sow the seed. After that, I put another tissue paper on them, and every day, I put water on the tissue paper. It made moisture in those seeds. But I think there is no need for tissue paper under the seeds. Its roots do not go easily in the water later. It will hinder the roots from penetrating. It is my first time, so I don’t know. But I know now. Next, if I want to grow microgreens in the water. I will not repeat it.

Every day, when I wake up, I go to my balcony and see my microgreens. I see how much it raises, and when I see it, I become happy. After 7 days, it is ready to eat. When I harvest, I feel another level of happiness in my mind. Next, I will sow red amaranth and spinach, which I sowed. I am sowing one after another so that I can eat microgreens every day.

Yesterday, I cooked rice, dal, and vegetables together. In Bengali, it is called "khichuri ". I use vegetables like Pumpkin, potato, and tomato. I added some microgreens to my lunch. From now on in every meal, I add some microgreens.

I hope you like my post. If you have any questions, you can ask me in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.
