Hello hive lovers and planters. It's been 10 days since I opened the hive and shared my gardening activities. Some work was to be done while visiting my mother at her house. I haven't seen her in a long time, so yesterday I went to her house and found that some of my mother's vegetable plants had already started bearing fruit. Oh yes, my mother likes to plant flowers around her house, and some fruits and vegetables for her consumption. yes, maybe that's how she used to be from when he was young until now. She is 63 years old. Did your mother do the same, like to grow flowers, vegetables, and fruit for her consumption?

let's start from:
Her backyard
As I said above, my mother likes to plant flowers, and she has many types of taro, orchids, vines, and other flowers that I don't know the names of :D and don't miss cacti.
This is a photo of his flower plant behind the house, she planted it using various types of pots. I like the colorful taro leaves they plant, but unfortunately, my cellphone camera doesn't support it.

Orchids and planted with pots and coconut fiber to help growth
Tamarind star fruit, I think this is included in the type of fruit. My mother often uses the fruit to add acid to cooking. There is a special dish from my area called "gulai asam", a dish with a sauce that is why it is called "gulai" and the contents are mixed with fish and several types of vegetables. Then a few cloves of this fruit are added to add a sour taste and finally it is called "sour curry". If you come to my area or my country, you can try this dish.
Other fruit that has been harvested several times and I have also experienced the results, namely this:
this is a mangosteen tree but it's not the time to bear fruit, too bad. The tree is big enough.
There are also several banana trees of several types. For this tree, I was a little lucky because some of them were already ripe and harvested by my mother so I could enjoy them when I visited haha
Side Yard
Moving to the side yard of the house, fruits and vegetables are planted on this land, such as:
Two chili trees for personal consumption.
Lime
Ginger
Eggplant
Lemongrass
Guava
Mango
Betel Nut
The plants above have not yet produced a harvest for my mother. I saw some new plants planted
Front yard
Just like in the previous yard, my aunt planted flowers in the front yard. I did not have time to document some photos, such as several types of roses, jasmine, orchids, and others. Don't forget the dominating taro and cactus flowers.
The oldest tree in this house is the avocado. Several times it has produced as much harvest as the mangosteen behind the house.
Apart from planting and gardening, there is one activity that I recently saw my mother do, namely raising ornamental fish "betta fish". There are three tails that he maintains with taro flower decorations in their containers. The container used was also a former biscuit container haha.
I even asked him why he keeps this, and my mother answered that this was entertaining for her grandchildren while feeding it. Sometimes his grandson comes every day with my sister. Their house is next door. This is how he entertained himself in his old age, filling his activities with gardening. Is your mother or family like this too?
I think I will follow in his footsteps when I have a house later. :)

What I remember about my grandmother's houses is that the front yard was always decorated with flowers - lots of flowers arranged in rows and in specific places. The backyard is reserved for vegetables and fruit trees. This is some established style of garden arrangement in my country, I guess. My mother on the other hand likes to plant and look after flowers. She has many orchids, hibiscus and other exotic plants (except for cacti). My father is the one who deals with the vegetables and fruits, not she 😃
It looks like your mother has everything she needs in her big and lovely garden. 😊
