Recently my friend invited me to her house through the WhatsApp group we have, where we share ideas, help each other or meet up to spend an afternoon together and stimulate our gardening creativity. When I arrived at her house I was surprised because she was very focused on achieving a platicerio, a plant that grows on plates and is a family of ferns and is widely known as staghorn or elkhorn ferns because of its uniquely shaped fronds. it looks beautiful as the plates come out and the leaves grow in the shape of an antler.
But this takes a lot of dedication to achieve and she is very jealous of her plants and does not allow anyone to touch them, because so much effort and dedication can go to waste in fractions of a minute.
We continue walking around the garden and there are hours of work and dedication in this beautiful garden.
And the begonias and the boniatillos and so many precious species that she has in her little piece of garden that you are hypnotised.
The time flew by and I had to leave, but to my surprise my friend gave me a little "platicerio" as a present,
The truth is that I didn't imagine such a gift, since a small conversation box can cost up to 100.00 USD, but she decided to give it to me as a gift in honour of our friendship.
I arrived home overjoyed with my new acquisition, and now my sisters and my neighbours also want a copy just like mine. So now I have to go again to my friend's house when she goes to separate the children's plates to sow again and learn how she does it and learn how to remove the children to be able to go sowing little by little those who fell in love with my platicerio and the truth is that it gives off a beauty without equal and transforms the atmosphere of the home by the amount of positive energy that emanates from its interior, everyone who passes by its side has to stop to admire its beauty and the unusual way in which it branches out. And it de-stresses you in a magical way, because it calms you and gives you peace. Nature is wonderful, as it helps us to approach and relate to others, creating links with our environment and at the same time improving our self-concept. It awakens our empathy and altruism towards others and increases our sense of well-being.
