Indigo is a very fascinating and mysterious color. By definition, it is a color somewhere in the transition from dark blue to dark violet. It can come in light and dark shades and somehow everyone seems to have a different idea about the color INDIGO.
The cornflowers in my garden are, I think, a beautiful example of this color. Especially because the flowers color also changes over time. At first they are very dark and then the older they get, the lighter they become, until they nearby get white at the end of their life.

Indigo ist eine sehr faszinierende und mysteriöse Farbe. Per Definition ist es eine Farbe irgendwo im Übergang von Blaz zu Violett. Sie kann in hellen und dunklen Farbtönen vorkommen und irgendwie scheint jeder eine andere Vorstellung von der Farbe INDIGO zu haben.
Die Kornblumen in meinem Garten sind, denke ich, ein schönes Beispiel für diese Farbe. Vor allem, weil die Blüten sich im Laufe der Zeit auch verändern. Zuerst sind sie sehr dunkel und je älter sie werden, umso heller werden sie dann, bis sie am Ende ihres kurzen Lebens beinahe weiß sind.
Auch sieht es so aus, als würden die Blüten sehr gut schmecken, wie die eifrige Hummel beweist :-) allerdings habe ich noch keine zu essen probiert.
Also, it looks like the flowers taste very good, as evidenced by the eager bumblebee :-) however, I have not yet tried any to eat.

indigo is such a peculiar color 😄
What a an absolutely pure, bright and beautiful blue. Did you know that blue pigment made blue paint the most expensive and sought after colour, hense the term "royal blue" because only royalty could afford to have themselves painted in blue garments. It's even more fascinating that these flowers transform to indigo. I wonder what influences that change in them?
