It's time to harvest tomatoes, okra, and spring onions!

in HiveGardenlast year (edited)

Last Sunday, Hubby harvested his okra, tomatoes, and spring onions. We have more time to harvest and sell them since we are not working.

Okra
The husband harvested his okra for the first time. He planned to have it for lunch that day, so he cooked it with other vegetables from the garden. He made a vegetable soup called Law-oy.

Tomatoes
After that, we went to harvest his tomatoes. At first, my husband was the only one harvesting them, but I was curious about how the tomatoes fell so easily from the stem. My husband told me that it was the last harvest before he would remove them, as they would not produce any more fruit. He had already planted some tomato seeds to replace the old ones.

Spring Onions
After a long time, hubby decided to harvest all the spring onions from his garden. It was a good decision, as the plants had grown too big and needed to be replanted. When he pulled them out, he noticed that they had a lot of roots. So, he decided to remove the soil from the pots and separate the roots from the soil before replanting them.

Seedlings
He also planted more bell pepper seeds to have another crop.

Once he had harvested all his crops, he washed and cleaned them, especially the spring onions. He had to cut off the roots and separate the good ones.

He only sold his tomatoes and spring onions because he only had a small harvest of okra, which was only enough for our family to consume. He hopes to have a larger harvest of okra next time. He earned 300 pesos from the spring onions and tomatoes. He needs to leave some spring onions for replanting.

That's it for today's garden blog. Thank you for your time. God bless you all.

What a good harvest you got, the chives are very big, what a good harvest. I hope the next harvest will be bigger and you can sell it and have enough to eat at home.

We always have more than enough to eat that's why we usually more of them so we can also earn from our garden.thanks for dropping by

Good, I'm going to try my hand at sowing chives and see how I get on.

That's a lot of tomatoes. A few day from I am also going to have my fist harvest of tomatoes.

That's a cool garden you have there. I've always been curious how onions were planted. Do they have seeds?

It's spring onions that we have. Anyways about onions I guess you can plant it by seeds

I truly dislike oily vegetables, and my stomach tends to reject them.

That is a very nice yard garden, tita.
