Update on my husband’s garden - Harvest and selling time

in HiveGardenlast year

Early this morning, hubby decided to pick his okra, bell peppers, and sword peppers.

He needed to sell them to get money for his allowance today. He also needs money to buy food for our chicken.

He first picked his bell peppers, which he had never done before, even though he had been picking them for our daily consumption. He was surprised at how easy it was, and how much satisfaction he got from it. He felt a sense of accomplishment and pride in being able to provide for his family in this way. He also enjoyed the fresh, crisp taste of the peppers, which were much better than the ones he had bought from the store.

He then picked his sword pepper. He had planted it more than a year ago, but it had stopped producing fruit. He was disappointed, as he had enjoyed the peppers. He wondered why the plant had stopped producing fruit. He decided to do some research to find out. He learned that sword peppers typically produce fruit for about two years. After that, they need to be replanted. He also learned that sword peppers need a lot of sunlight and water. He realized that he had not been giving his plant enough sunlight or water. He decided to start giving it more of both. He hoped that this would help the plant start producing fruit again.

Okra is one of his favorite vegetables, so he picked it last. He decided to sell it since he couldn't eat all of it, as I don't like okra. He carefully picked the okra pods, making sure to leave some on the plant so that it would continue to produce. He then washed them and placed them in a basket to take to the market. At the market, he sold the okra to a local vendor who would sell it to customers. The vendor was happy to have the fresh okra, and the husband was happy to have made some money.

I was busy preparing breakfast, so I missed the chance to take a picture of him picking his okra and sword pepper. I was disappointed because I knew the pictures would have been beautiful. The okra was long and green, and the sword pepper was green. I could just imagine how they would have looked in a picture, with the sun shining behind them and the dew still on the leaves. I hope I get another chance to see him picking his vegetables soon.

It's great that my husband helps me earn money by gardening and selling vegetables. It's a wonderful way to support my income and get some fresh air and exercise. It's also a great way to connect with nature and provide healthy food for our family. I really appreciate his hard work and dedication.
