Interesting.
as for the pruning in warm weather, here in Portugal we prune the olive trees in winter, cold weather as to avoid the "wounds" being infected with bacteria that is more abundant in warm weather.
our Rosemary and Lavender hardly ever get water. the Lavender is native and has been around longer then us. transplanting it is a s easy as anything. you just dig under using a shovel and unroot it with some soil. you then place it where you want it. he doesn´t even seem to notice.
Rosemary, once established is as hardy as anything. our summers are long and hot and dry. they do well.

Thanks. These plants do come from the Mediterranean, so love those conditions. Interesting about the Olives. Ours get a price twice a year but that's more due to their position in the garden than anything else.
