Spinach (Amaranth) is a plant whose leaves are usually grown for consumption as a green vegetable. This plant originally comes from tropical America, but has now spread throughout the world.
This plant is considered a herbal source of iron which is important for the body. Spinach contains vitamin A beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.
The content of lutein and zeaxanthin helps the eyes filter harmful shortwave light and prevents damage to the macula and central retina of the eye.
The benefit of green spinach is that it can strengthen muscles thanks to the Coenzyme Q-10 (C0-Q10) factor which acts as an antioxidant and helps pump blood throughout the body.
Pumping blood to all parts of the body is also supported by a stronger heart muscle.
The coenzymes found in spinach can also reduce the risk of heart failure and coronary artery disease.
The potassium in spinach relaxes blood vessel walls thereby lowering blood pressure and preventing muscle spasms.
Apart from that, the folic acid content has a calming effect on blood vessels so that it can reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
In addition to folic acid, it also contains natural nitrates, compounds that open blood vessels, increase blood flow and reduce pressure on the heart.
Another lesser known benefit of spinach is that it can prevent cancer and slow the growth of tumor cells.
Spinach contains beta-carotene and vitamin C which play an active role in preventing the development of cancer cells.
Apart from beta-carotene and vitamin C, chlorophyll is also a substance that has the effect of preventing cancer.
Chlorophyll is an effective barrier against the carcinogenic effects of heterosilicate amines.
Even so, spinach here is abundant and easy to grow, so the price of the vegetable is very cheap.
