Ah, thank you for this good post! It helps me to identify a seedling which I found flung in the street yesterday, as I wasn't sure if it was aloe or agave: it looks very much more like your young agave here, which encouraged ne to reseacrh the differences between the two. Usually if you have it in a large plant container it can live very well, since both aloe and agave take a long time to grow, it can be well cared for there.
