Hello Garden Hivers! I just want to share with you one of the achievements I have so far. Owning a small piece of land through your own hard work and sacrifices is an achievement for most of us! It’s a fulfilling feeling when you did something you really dream of having. And to add up, when you have your own garden.

This is my Garden! I’m so in love with it. We have different variety of plants here. From spices to herbs like ginger, chillis, bell peppers, string onions and others. to plants like squash, okra, cucumbers and etc. I remember when we were little, everything is a struggle. Aside from the help we had from our relatives, our garden before helps us on our day-to-day meal. From green leafy vegetables to root crops, everything is valuable. So, for some of us, having a backyard garden is a must!

But of course, not all time that is always a happy time. Problems arise like bugs/pests eating your plants, the nonstop rain especially this time of the year or the sudden warm and hot weather, will make it harder for your plants to grow!

This one right here is the bell pepper and the local chillis. These are the plants that never be absent in our garden. This is easy to plant and has a high chance of survival through the changing weather we have all year round. The small local chillis were used and is stock in a bottle with vinegar and other spices, for dipping especially we you have fried foods. The bell peppers were used in almost all of our dishes, just to add aroma and a spike of spiciness to our food.

We also have different kinds of fruit trees like this red rose apple and variety of banana plants.

Let’s go to the most EXCITING part, the harvest time! Yes, indeed this is the most awaited part of being a gardener, when you reap what you sow! The happiness you feel every time you harvest to know you are eating healthy organic vegetables. And to note, that it’s FREE!

This is the one thing I will never stop doing for as long as I am able. My stress reliever and my happiness! And, who knows? I can make a bigger garden after this! Thanks for dropping by!

Gardening is a good way to release stress and renew energy, of course sometimes the weather or pests do not help our plants to grow healthy and strong, but at least we do what we can and connect with nature for a moment 😊

It's funny, I remember my first attempt at growing squash. I was so frustrated when the flowers wouldn't turn into fruit! Turns out, they needed a little help with pollination – male and female flowers, you know. By the time someone told us, the vines had already dried up from our hopeless attempts, with those tiny squash just dropping off. Lesson learned, now we know! lol
