Planting various crops in the same land (cayenne pepper, turmeric and ginger)

Hello friends, plant lovers or gardening lovers, I am very happy to join you in this amazing community!

The weather is sunny and cloudy, very suitable and enthusiastic for harvesting cayenne pepper.

Today I want to share my experience in gardening. First of all, I want to discuss land. The land that I use for planting is land for planting oil palm trees. In my area, Aceh, it is famous for its vast oil palms, many lands are used to plant oil palms, including mine.

Because our oil palm trees are still small, we try to use the garden to plant young trees or also called intercropping on the same land so that there is other income while waiting for the oil palm trees to grow big and most importantly so that the soil remains moist and well-maintained. Actually, for oil palms, intercropping plants are usually legumes. But not with us, we plant plants with different techniques that others may not do. Our plants are also very irregular, I'm actually embarrassed to say it. Haha

In one 1 hectare of land, we plant 4 types of plants at once, namely cayenne pepper, turmeric, ginger and kencur. What do you think about this? Oh yeah I forgot to say that I am not alone in this process but with my partner, my beloved husband.. Hehehe We have something in common, namely we both like (hobby) gardening so we decided to do it together (gardening).

One of them (plants) that we planted on the land has borne fruit and can be harvested, namely cayenne pepper. I feel very happy! We planted cayenne pepper last March and in July it can be harvested. We harvest once a week until all of them are harvested. So far there have been almost no obstacles, they grow very well, I am very grateful for that.

We started planting before I joined this platform so I don't have pictures of the initial process. This is a picture of the results of the hard work of the past few months (since last March).

I will tell you a little about the process of planting cayenne pepper in our own way. Well, first of all I get cayenne pepper seeds by taking them directly from the fruit. I buy cayenne pepper from cayenne pepper farmers in our area, I ask for old chilies (the outer skin is red) for seeds. Then I blend the cayenne pepper by adding a lot of water so that the seeds don't break. Then I rinse it to separate the skin. Young and bad cayenne pepper seeds will float, I only use seeds that sink.

Next, I sow the seeds directly in the soil and cover them with dry coconut leaves to avoid direct sunlight, because the seeds are still susceptible to heat. About 3 weeks old, the seedlings are then moved to the previously prepared land, we give organic fertilizer in the form of manure and other fertilizers such as urea fertilizer.

Meanwhile, other plants such as turmeric, ginger and kencur cannot be harvested yet. We plan to start harvesting them in 3-4 months.

Aren't you interested in doing it (gardening)?
I have experience gardening without land! I mean not my own land. I borrowed someone else's empty land for gardening, maybe because my hobby is too heavy, like longing too much hahaha so it must be fulfilled.

You might be able to do the same thing as I did if you are sure about gardening! Maybe that's all for today..

Thank you very much for stopping by and supporting my post.
See you in my next post!!

Do you know why your chili peppers are so small and somewhat twisted, almost shriveled? It’s because of the soil you’re using. It might be lacking essential nutrients, and it's probably low in calcium and sodium.

Thank you for your response, it seems you are right, because the land I am using has been used to plant oil palm trees before (oil palm planting) but what can I do, that is all I have.

Ahhh, now I understand. =)
