What a wonderful space! The only thing we lack is more time to play in the garden when we first arrive! Clearing is a huge job! Amazing how quickly things can become overgrown! The brambles are hard to get rid of, many people want to keep a few! I will never (I mean never!) have berries planted in a place they can keep growing. The only thing I can suggest, short of weed killer, which I won't do... is to cut them six inches from the ground and begin digging out the roots. That is what we did. Also, salt can be used. It will draw water from the nearby plants causing leaves (if applied by spraying) or roots (if watered in) to dry out and die. Good luck. It was miserable watching them take over everything. Although I love berries, the brambles were too much for me.
This is going to be such a beautiful place in time! It certainly is fun watching it happen!
Good luck and as always, #MarketFriday still loves you! 💜
:)
Yes, brambles can be a nuisance, but I think that before trying salt, which sounds like a really good idea! We'll try to uproot everything and keep the only ones that produce lots of berries :) Maybe make a stone enclosure for them (?)
I'd be interested to see a bit of your garden, and even photos of how it might have looked in the beginning and even the different stages! But first, we're off to Brittany hehe
I look forward to showing more as we progress, thanks again dear @dswigle, I wish you a lovely day and beautiful summer 😘
Waves to you!!
I will share soon about this house we arrived just yesterday, I think you'll love it !
