Harvesting Apples - Azusha Bashi, Nagano, Japan

in HiveGarden3 months ago

Hi Gardener... Happy weekend..

these two weeks I have been busy with my main job and also my other job as a farmer. I like this kind of job because I have never done it before. Some time ago I was a tomato farmer, this time I am an apple farmer.

This apple farm is still in the same location.

Apple Field - Azusha Bashi, Nagano, Japan

After the farm owner was satisfied with the results of our work in the tomato garden a few weeks ago, now we are also trusted to harvest apples in the apple orchard near the tomato garden, Azusha Bashi, Nagano.

  • Week 1

This is our second week as apple farmers (can only harvesting be called farming?) We do this work on Saturday and Sunday. The photos above are photos of apples in the field on our first week of work. To be honest, this is the first apple picking job in my life. In my country, I rarely see apple fields, I only enjoy the apples, and my favorite is Japanese apples because they have a unique taste. Now, I can pick them myself, how fun my adventure in Japan is.

Unlike tomatoes, this apple tree has a tall tree so we need a ladder to pick the apples that are ready to be harvested. I have to be careful because even though it seems trivial, if it falls from the ladder, it will break your bones too.

The apples in the first week were reddish. These are the red apples that are commonly found in the market.

In the second week, we harvested green apples. Yes, there were some red apples too, but this time there were also green apples that were ready to be harvested.

These green apples are my mother's favorite because they have a taste that is not so sweet, but a little sour. I wanted to send them to my mother. This is a very popular type of green apple.

Having two different jobs at one time is indeed fun. Although I work from Monday to Friday, I also enjoy working on Saturday and Sunday to get more income. This is better than just staying at home when the weekend arrives. Being a farmer is indeed difficult--because I have never worked as a farmer before--but it is fun.

My colleagues and I work with a smile because while harvesting these apples we can still joke and chat. That is an important moment so that we can enjoy working.

By the way, what will I harvest next week? I am also curious about my new job.
