It took me some time to create a new update about my garden.🌱 Something unexpected happened, and it was all so sudden. I had just come home from the office, and what greeted me was this scene, as you’ll see in the pictures below.
BEFORE
This is how it looked before, with large, healthy vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, potatoes, bitter gourd, chili, and squash. Everything was well-organized and clean because I always made sure to maintain cleanliness to avoid any issues with the local authorities.
AFTER
However, on January 7, 2025, when I arrived home from the office at around 6:20 PM, I was shocked by what I saw. Everything was cleared out, and nothing was left behind. Even my personal belongings were taken by the local authorities. My scooter's battery, which was just beside our house, was confiscated, along with my fishing rods. My grill for cooking meat and fish was also gone.
My Cherry Tomatoes
This is what happened to my Cherry Tomato plants. I don’t hold any resentment toward the actions of the authorities because it is their right, and this is their country—I’m just a foreigner here. However, I can’t help but feel disheartened about my Cherry Tomatoes, which I had patiently nurtured and cared for over a long period, hoping to see them thrive.
My Chili Plants
Here’s the only photo I managed to take of my chili plants, and unfortunately, I don’t have any other recent ones. My chili plants had grown to about 2 to 3 inches before they were removed or destroyed by the authorities. It takes about 10 days for the seeds to sprout, which is why I feel so regretful about losing these plants I had patiently nurtured.
Mulberry Tree Before and After
This is one of the most heartbreaking losses because this Mulberry Tree has been one of my dream plants for a long time. I’ve had this tree for over two years, and it has borne fruit several times, producing sweet and large berries that I truly cherish.
I wasn’t able to capture a photo of my Tamarind tree, which I had been nurturing for over six years. I took great care of this tree, watering it regularly. Unfortunately, it was one of the plants they cut down. The tamarind tree bore sweet and large fruits, and since I grew it from seed, I feel deeply disheartened. However, I will try to revive it despite its trunk being cut down, as the roots remain intact, and there’s a chance new branches might sprout and allow it to grow again.
