A peek into my good and bad garden

in HiveGarden2 days ago

Although I loved gardening, but I must say that I am not really a very good gardener. I tend to forget the fertilizing schedule, or completely ignore the plants that I have in my garden. And that is the reason I want to build a system that allow me to just let most of the daily work to be a little bit automated, especially watering those plants, which somehow it is should be easy to do, but never been able to do it properly. It is mainly because I am not home, all the time, since I work away from home, and then rent a boarding room near my work place, so I could only care for the garden when I am home, or when I can.

Despite all that, some of the plants decided to reward me a little bit by showing me some fruits, so that I can be a little bit happy with the slightest things that I gave to those plants. Hopefully (just hopefully) I can take care of them much better next time.

I will start with this tomato that I have and now it only has one fruit only. It used to have some, which I already harvested, or harvested a lot faster by my son who loved to pluck them when it was still so small.

I don't think I will get another harvest next time from this plant, although I still see some flowers emerging on the stalk's tip.

Here I have something that I am a little bit proud of which is this chilli plant. Why I am happy because I managed to keep them alive, until they bore some fruits without any pest attack. Although the plant could be bigger and bear more fruit, at least I have something to harvest. A good start isn't it?

This is the hibiscus flower, quite small, but still lovely. A place where I can attract a lot of critters to visit and then I could have some subjects to photograph for my macro shots. ; )

The flowering Nusa Endah plant. It is almost always on the bloom, which is very nice, but unfortunately, I could not use it as part of the offering. not very commonly used flower for the offering.

beautiful Frangipani flower in my yard.

Here is another type, which I planted side by side. Now they appear to be one tree with two different type of flower.

Now I will show the bad part of my garden.

here is the ornamental plant that I planted above my house wall. I want it to be the cover to block the view from the alleyway into my house, but it is not growing really well. see the water bottle there, it was a little idea to make a self-watering device, but the water from the water bottle was finished only in a night. lol

A little bit sad one.

And this one is the hanging garden on the outer side of my wall, the idea is to have them grow so that my house looks green from the outside, but at the moment, it rather looking so bleak, and has no life at all.

I get it, I'm a bit of a sporadic gardener too. Glad you are getting some successes!

Thanks so much man for the encouragement. You are a better gardener than me for sure, I think I need to make the update to my gardening as well to monitor things that I need to improve. But I need to improve my to do list first as I tend to always miss most of the things that I need to do.

Some decent plants you’ve got man. I used to kill mine as well lol but I learned how important it is for fertilizer and watering. Mist watering is the best way to get the plant the most water it can use. Don’t soak the roots but spray the whole plant and it will be much happier, two or three times a day when it’s hot.

For tomatoes - eggs and bananas! Egg shells contain calcium and other nutrients that the tomatoes love. Add some banana peels and you’ve got a delicious mixture for the plant. Boil the banana peel in water for a few then let it cook and spray into the plant and roots. Great food for the plant!

I used to kill mine as well

I guess we tend to do it as the gardener isn't it. the common problem besides the pest. !LOLZ

Got to remember the banana and the egg shell recipe. I used to use the water from the compost that I made, but the place for my compost was attacked by rodent, so I need to find a little solution for that issue. I think I need some kind of plastic drum to fix that.

Gardening takes time, I am one of those who plants and then does not take care haha but your plants have resisted and that is very good, you will make them grow healthy and strong 😂

Yes it is, and it takes patience as well, but it is always nice to have some greenery in the house, where everything around me are just walls and bricks.
thank sos much man

Gardening can be really intensive work, but you're still making great progress, some plants already have fruits and many haven't died out completely :)

haha hopefully I can harvest some of them before they died completely.
thanks so much man.
