RE: The Return of the Gooseberry and a Last Basil Harvest

in HiveGarden8 months ago

You are so lucky! I had three passion fruit vines that grew, but they never really took. I think the area where I tried to grow them too hot and few water. But when I did harvest, there were plenty!

I envy you, as I would love to have so much again. Hopefully, the gooseberry plant will provide me.

Thank you so much! I will check out the source. Always good to dry and store, ancient techniques of storage.

Sort:

Good rains, timing it's all about nature when she will provide now have sufficient fruits to make around six to eight litres again.

Gooseberries are a delightful fruit as well, will have to somehow save some for yourselves !LOLZ

True abundance is a special kind of gift! We few who garden for ourselves know the fruit of our labour. I will try to get some! They make for the best chutney. Gooseberry chutney beats every other one!

Gooseberry is simply one of those that can be used in so many ways, each one normally delicious!

For sure! In the future, when I have a bit more playground (garden) that is my own, the first thing I will grow in abundance is gooseberries! Grow so easily, produce so many fruits and seeds.

Desired fruit people will buy, fruitful!

I think most things. Marog or amaranth another one. I think if people knew how healthy and abundantly it grew here. People will rather eat that than spinach. It is all about exposure. People need to see new food types in the store or at local markets.

Buying in markets one still finds some very traditional food off the land. Wonderful to see the chefs in the country are introducing foods across all cultural lines to bring more ideas to the table.
